I've heard a few less than favorable things about my Primary Care Doctor and as much as I'd like to find a new, there is a shortage in my area. I also fear that someone new would take a look at my med menu and immediately try to take things away. If that happened, I wouldn't even be able to work the little bit I still do.
The other day though, I was told about a woman who was treated for Arthritis for a long time. By the time her bone cancer was discovered, it was too late for any treatment. Yup...that was my doc. She only sees patients in the clinic two days a week and the rest of the time she works with Hospice.
The Rheumatologist I just saw was thoroughly disgusted with the things she discovered that my doctor didn't...because she never examines me! Vitamin D defficiency is listed as one of my issues yet a check on the level wasn't included in the bloodwork I requested so I could bring current information to my appt..
I'm probably just babbling because I really hurt tonight, but I think my concerns are legitimate and I really need to make a project out of finding a new pcp.

When we find out someone put in charge for the very essence of lives and they throw us under the bus it is unfathomable. For you not have to have had the basic care required is now noted by your Rheumatologist and hopefully she will follow-up with a call.
You are not babbling and even if you were the right belongs to you with the pain you are experiencing. I've fired a few doctors in my life and the energy required to interview new ones is exhausting at times. The easiest way for finding my new PCP when we move to our home state was to set up interviewing appointments. No physical etc. just a get to know the PCP and if I felt it would be a good fit.

I really hope you find a good Doctor, you deserve the best. Never settle for second best.
I go back this Friday to go over the test results. So one thing at a time.
Have you checked your states licensing agency to see if there are any reports or complaints about your Dr.? You might want to find out exactly how negligent she is and then make a decision. And if you have the backing of your Rheumy, then perhaps a new Dr. wouldn't mess with your Cocktail if it's worked for a long time. One thing you can be sure of, if you live in a small community the other Dr.'s know about your Dr.'s issues, a new one might be compassionate to the reason your wanting to change.
