I never made it to the morning check in so here's one for the end of the day.
Halloween was fun when my boys were little, but now it's just a pain in my ass. I spend my evenings hanging out on my bed, watching TV with my critters...they like the puppy shows on Animal Planet, but don't complain if we watch NCIS instead!
So tomorrow night I'll have to keep watch for the little beggars so I can meet them on the porch before the dogs spot them and rush out when I open the door...grrrrr. I'll play this game for a couple hours so the younger kids can get their candy, but I plan to close up shop before the kids that are bigger than me show up. It's a quiet street and I don't get as many kids as when I first moved here, anyway.
My tenant is gone, but his 'essence' lingers...gag. I bought $51 worth of cleaning and odor removal supplies today. I'll pay for someone to wash the walls and cabinets. I certainly can't do it. He thinks he's getting his whole security deposit back...ha! He broke the new doorknob by the time I did a 6 month inspection... The last one held up for the 8 years I had a business there. Too much slamming and yanking ruined this one according to the carpenter who replaced it.
I need to get the place smelling like a place someone would want to live in! It's basically my only real income, aside from a very little bit of work. I'm trying to pull some clients back, but I've only had a few so far.
Special love and concern for Kim and her dh....and Cindi with your test today. Of course, hugs for all my hens.
xoxo...and all that jazz

Good morning.81 and climbing this afternoon. Joanne I hope you and Mario had a lovely wedding anniversary! Sounds like a very worthwhile treat :-)There was just the 4 of us at ours at Bromley registry office. Yeah if there's a huge fire all crew at fire stations in the area and outside the area if needed will be called in to help. Doug and I bought a walking treadmill. I did 45 minutes...

Halloween was nothing for a few year, but now grandson has his birthday on that day. That makes it so special. This after noon he got in pj and when to bed. "To make birthday come sooner". Just lov him. 4 years old, wow.
Best to you and hub Dixe and all others.
Hugs
Cherry, wishing i could come clean for you, i could even give it a lick of paint.
Halloween is way bigger in America than it is in England, tho the decoration and stuff in the shops increases yearly.
Last year we didn't get anyone knocking, which pleases me, this year its fallen in half term so i am expecting a couple.
I dont mind the little kids with mums, its the bigger kids doing it just to get free sweets and egging your house that i mind.
Prayers and positive thoughts for everyone
We never celebrated Halloween here.
So sorry about your tenant and the mess he left. Sure wish I lived close by....I would surely help!!!
Janie, that is the sweetest thing I've ever heard. Your grandson sounds like a very special little guy.
Empanthy, so right! It's the bigger kids that still want to "Trick or Treat" and I would never turn them away but some are just too old. And rarely do they wear a costume, I guess that wouldn't be "cool". :-)
Dixie, It rained almost all day yesterday and some people in the stores thought it would rain all night and they were VERY happy about it. Unfortunately, it stopped raining around 3 so it looked like the ghost and goblins were coming after all. Thank goodness I bought candy. I even sprung for 2 bags. I kept looking outside because the kids were not coming and I was trying to see if I could hear them in the neighborhood. I probably looked like a crazy old woman looking for children to give candy to. lol.
But little did they know is that I soooooo just wanted to get comfy and get in my pj's. I'd had on that bra waaaaay too long. :-)
I was just getting ready to turn off the lights when the doorbell rang for the first time. We had only two kids the whole night. Very strange. But fine by me.
Musk, that's so funny. I never would have thought about changing costumes. But what a great idea!! :-)
Good to hear you and your h are both doing better and following the doctors orders....very important.
Hugs to all!
