I awoke today with a 8/9 migraine and I hurt so bad that my legs hurt. I popped 3 T-3's, a muffin and a coffee and dragged myself to work because I had an important meeting at 8 am with Germany. I then had 2 other meetings before lunch and when I got to my office, I had popped another 3 T-3's and was having trouble concentrating when people were interrupting me and asking me questions that I wish they would figure out themselves. I wanted to take an Oxy but I knew that would be the end of me.
My boss came in at 2 and said he wasn't feeling good and was going to go home now. I looked at him and could see that he wasn't quite himself. I did feel compassion, but you know, I doubt he felt as bad as I do. I will be here for a few more hours and I will be interrupted a dozen more times before it is all over.
I"m not angry or anything drastic. I'm pretty drugged up and hurting too bad to take it personal. I'm just verbalizing to the universe that this suffering level here is not justified. Why does life have to be continuously so much harder for one person, than for another? Why does the suffering have to be done in silence? Why can't I get a break in life?
These questions sting more when I'm feeling like this, but the question remains just the same. Sometimes it is just too much, and ...for what? I've learned all that I can about patience and endurance. Maybe I have acceptance to learn too, but isn't that the same as resignation and just friggen giving up? Where would I be if I just give up?
The words that used to flow so freely, are stuck inside of me now.

I don't know how you do it. What little work I do seems insurmountable most days, but I could never manage anything close to your schedule and responsibilities. You, of all people, deserve a huge break.
The normals irritate the crap out of me...not going to pretend I understand them, anymore. On a good day for me, a normal would pobably be calling their doctor or heading to the ER. I truly understand how you're feeling and have asked those same questions.
Big, cuddly hugs...
hope you can get out of there soon and be in your peaceful haven.
Care of yourself and said that YOU need to go home because you were sick?
I'm so sorry you felt so bad today and had to suffer through work
Like that. (((Hugs)))
I wonder if you talked to your doctor if you could get Tylenol 4. It has more codeine but the same amount of tylenol so you don't get to much tylenol.
I had a high pain, high stress day also today. It sucks because the normals can not comprehend. And it is not legal to hit them with my cane yet. I keep hoping!
Sending healing energy and prayers that your pain reduces. Hugs-RJ
Thanks for the warning, RJ. It's rare that I take 3 T-3's, but to be honest, I think I've been doing that more often of late so I'm getting braver with these pills. I'm all concerned about the codeine and not thinking about the Tylenol at all. I'll look into it more. Is your sister okay now?
Hugs buddies
Big hugs-RJ
I hope your feeling much better today : )
I'm sure you probably know that some foods and drinks trigger, coffee being one, try and cut down if you can.
Migraines can also be triggered by dehydration, try drinking more water.
Codeine can make you constipated!
Have you had your blood pressure checked lately? Its just that i got far less headaches when i started on blood pressure tablets.
Tylenol 4 has twice the amount of codeine but the same amount of Tylenol so one Tylenol 4 is equal to 2 Tylenol 3 without an increase in Tylenol.
Empathy, is right codeine does cause constipation and that causes headaches. Coffee however helps break a migraines. I am guessing you got the delete list for migraines such as no chocolates, no nitrates, some times food coloring and preservatives, no yellow cheese, too much salt causing water retention, etc. I take a diuretic, with a couple of Excedrin and an ice pack at the base of my neck. I get up a 1/2 hour earlier so I can take my meds and 20 minutes on an ice pack then a hot shower. It takes the edge off enough to work, but for me I have found that Excedrin and ice help more than anything. There are lots of new meds for migraines hope your doctor has let you try them.
Wow,I admire you being able to keep up with such a stressful position. Your boss probably would not last 3 hours in your shoes!
Take care. Sending healing energy and big hugs. -RJ
Dietary triggers include:
lack of food (dieting)
delayed or irregular meals
dehydration
alcohol
the food additive tyramine
caffeine products, such as tea and coffee
specific foods such as chocolate, citrus fruit and cheese
When you do not eat regular meals, your blood sugar levels fall. If you then eat a sugary snack, blood sugar levels shoot up. These ‘peaks and troughs' could trigger migraine attacks.
As much as I think I am an ol pro, I know I can always learn something. I really didn't know how serious acetaminiphin poisioning can be until I looked it up last night. The warning signs are so subtle (nausea, vomitting, tiredness) but it can be quickly deadly. I educated myself on where my limits are and realized that I have gone over that a few times, and that some times, I have felt nauseated. Wake up call.
Education is power.
Bug hugs to you guys, ((((((my fabulous lifeline and wonderful support.))))))
Today I am working from home, and going in later to interview a person for my new assistant. I hope she is the one.
(I am so sorry, RJ)
I often ask the skies why I have to endure so much pain. I do not know the answer. Sometimes I must vent!!! Many times I cry.
Please know that we are here for you. I'm so glad you reached out. You're a good egg.

We always speak of Tylenol but Advil can be just as bad especially if you have any alcohol.
Wishing all my Hen sister's freedom from pain.
