i'm going to my mother's for the weekend and keep popping up and down b/c i keep remembering things. i'm cooking over there and for a cookout plus all my usual stuff. looking forward to it b/c we'll visit dad first and then hopefully kick back and relax until the cookout on monday.

Had the scare of my life this morning at 1:30 my son called to say he was in an accident. He rolled the truck twice. He was on his phone, took a curve to fast then swirved to miss a mailbox and flipped. All I can do this morning is be in prayer, thanking God he came out with only a few scratches and bruises. We took him to the ER to be on the safe side...he is fine.
How can we get through to people not to text and drive!!! There have been many scary videos posted, statistics on how fast you can very off in just 3 sec. What does it take to get through to people?!! Death is too late!! Hoping and praying my son learned his leason.
Just two days ago a car nearly hit me head on....just as I had decided to take the ditch he jerked his car back on his side of the road. You know he had to be rexting! Have you had an experience like this. I imagine it is quite common considering how many people text and drive...it was not my first!

kim, i'm so glad he's ok. even talking on the phone takes your mind off the road my mother has been both culprit and victim. i finally screamed at her one day and said this is not the way i'm going to die!! and when she calls me from the road i guilt her in saying what if the last words i ever heard from you were a crash and a scream? i'm not beyond guilting to get people to understand. that is so dangerous like playing russian roulette.

when i do get a car my phone is going to be off. i just saw in the morning paper where TN is using undercover truck drivers to catch people texting.

Dixie, so great that you are sleeping in. What a great evening that you had a cook out with hot dogs and marshmallows with your Granddaughter. We have been planning a sleep-over for week's with our GD but it never seems to work out with school starting and visitation with the A-hole X.

We are so disappointed because we thought we would get her this weekend. Hopefully next weekend will work.

So sorry to hear that you have gall stone's. I think you should insist that they take out the gallbladder BEFORE you have an attack.

Soooo, sorry that your Son rolled his truck! So good to hear that he is ok. There is nothing worse than getting a late night call when bad things happen.

I fuss at my DH all the time because he looks at the phone while driving. And he even dial's a call. One would think with all this new technology that you would be able to "say" who you want to call. But he doesn't do it. I worry about him when I am not there. Lord only know's what he is doing. I tell him all the time that he is like a 16 year old girl and cannot wait to relpy.

I rarely talk on the phone while driving. Dixie, so good that you managed to not get hit by that car.

When I know my kid's are driving I never call. It IS like playing Russian Roulette. What will it take for them to know better? I hope they know better before something tragic happen's.
