Kim, I know all too well of how it feels when my granddaughters wants to stay with me!
We do so much together when I am up to it.
They are so precious!!
I just hate that when I go to prepare something for a meal and then find out that I ran out of something :(
Tomorrow is my last day staying with the girls all day until next summer vacation.
They will both be in school all day this year.
I used to think when they were just little ones about how sad it would be when they did not need me to come spend the day.
Kind of sad as life just keeps moving on!
My daughter and I talked about me still coming one day a week later in the day and be there when the bus brings them home and then have dinner with them.
However we agreed that with my upcoming procedures and surgeries I could not be committed to a scheduled day.
We will figure something out though for a weekly visit if I am able to.
Seren, I am sending best wishes to find yourself a new wonderful home.
Yes I too know about preparing meals in steps!
Angela, I am so sorry about that terrible migraine!!!
I have suffered for so many years with them but the last few years I can manage them ok with my meds.
Before that I spent at least once a year being admitted into the hospital for up to 5 days one time for the worst episode!
Linda, I am glad that you got your health ins all taken care of.
I went on Social Security Disability in 2010 so I am on Medicare and also have a supplement ins to cover what they do not.
Knock on wood, I have been very blessed with them as far as paying for the care that I need!
Yesterday I had a doc appt and had my meds filled and talked about the plans for my knee and hand.
She suggested that I get those terrible injections in my lower back because of so much pain some days but I said that with all of these other things ahead of me that I just really need a break from them for awhile and do the best that I can until I can't take the pain. Hopefully I can go on for awhile with using the patches, TENs unit and heat!
Today is a quiet day. Do a bit of laundry and hopefully file some papers in my office.
Its amazing how fast everything becomes desk clutter!
Wishing you all the best day that you can!!
Cindi
cindi, i think that's a good cal on your part. i hope your other tools get you through it. glad you keep up with the desk clutter. i'm falling down on the job with that.
thanks for thinking me and my new home wherever it is.
i feel like i have to take a day of rest. i looked at an apt yesterday, but it was up two flights of stairs. i could barely make it much less with groceries, so...
best wishes to all!
Nice to be so popular with the critters also. Simba and Jill both in your lap. You should have no problem staying warm this winter. No flour is a big disappointment. Wish I were your neighbor because you could have had mine. Only problem is Frank would have answered door because my person would have been asleep.
Cindi I agree with Serenity on your choice to wait it out on those nasty injections. I have started to weigh their benefit against the issues they cause with my general health. So you have other procedures coming up and your body needs to be ready for them. I have missed some and am not up to speed on what procedure you are having on your knee. I know about your hand and that sounds pretty serious. It is good to know that your Medicare and the supplement coverage works. I am pretty sure we will eventually have to go that way as it seems the trend for companies who provide retiree healthcare.
My husband has been on Medicare for 10 years. He is 75. This year we were offered a spending account to purchase Plan F supplemental Medicare and Part D Prescription plan from his last employer. It is a hard descision because we pay a premium and deductible &co-insurance on our plan. The premium is reasonable and includes prescriptions. The spending account would not cover the part D we would need. I see 7 doctors and had only just started to check on who accepted Medicare. Most likely I am seeing this as a bigger problem than it is but for this year we will keep the retiree insurance with Aetna and I will have a year to prepare for straight Medicare benefits and get to know it. I do think the latter offer of the spending account could save us tons. I mean plan F pays 100% of anything A&B doesn't as long as it is something Medicare covers and the doctor or facility takes Medicare.
Serenity I am sorry the hardwood floor apartment didn't work. Stairs not my cup of tea either. I know there is a home waiting with your name on it. The first of the month is right around the corner so maybe new listings will be out. Hope so.
