Morning Hens,
So tired this morning. Was hoping to sleep in but Littlebit wouldn't't let me:(
I let David talk me in driving two hours to go pick up one of his friends yesterday and bringing him back here so he could spend the summer with his grandmother. I can never seem to say no to my kids. It was 9:30 by the time I got back. The mother of this kid was not appreciative at all...not friendly at all....people now days are so rude!! The grandmother though was very nice and appreciative.
Then I walk in the door and my dh is getting ready to leave for a trip:( *sigh
Then I had to clean up a messy kitchen.
Hippy I made that salad yesterday. It's half gone already and I haven't had any yet! And it makes a lot!! I better get some of it lol.
Still making my very rustic scrappy cloth journals....and I don't know anyone who journals. So I don't know what I will do with them all but I am sure having fun making them. I guess I will figure something out to do with them. Art for one, diary for another, ect. Maybe fav. Recipes for one lol hippy's avocado corn recipe being the first one in there so I don't lose it again:)
Hope you all have a peaceful Sunday , hugs

So mad at Xfinity! They're trying to charge me $115 per month for the same service I had been paying $50 the last four years. I took the equipment to UPS for shipping and cancelled my subscription today! Next door was a cookie shop called Crumbl. I had heard of it before but never went in until today. I don't need one more sugar fix, but maybe it will help with my sad) grieving heart....$15...

What is the salad recipe. I guess I missed it.
Tired, so an easy Father's Day here. Happy Father's Day to all the fathers of hens and the other.
We had Nevada's 150 birthday yesterday. It was nice, but so many people can be exaushing. I'll post pic of grand son in the small town parade
Enjoy the day and don't spoil the men!
Janie
dixie, it's a shame how manner-less some folks are now and with the price of gas! you have some really good karma coming to you, dear. i think the journals are great for favorite recipes. something else will come to you. have you looked on pinterest?
sorry dh is taking off again so soon, but hope you enjoy your day.
janie, that sounds like a fun celebration! hope to see the photo soon. that recipe was the title of a topic. there are several good ones on here a page or so back.
i have chocolate cupcakes cooling to be iced. my sister is going to pick up dad and bring him over here to mother's for dinner. i'm feeling pretty good despite waking way too early. have time to rest a bit before they get over. it's been beautiful this weekend.
good day to all and happy father's day your husbands and fathers.
Kim sounds like you can double that recipe. It goes fast here between just the two of us. A great summer salad. You are a mama hen for these teenagers. They are lucky to have you. Would love to see pics of your journals. They sound lovely. I might have some fabrics that would work for you.
Janie a big celebration in your town. I am with you on big crowds. Can't wait to see a picture of that grandson . I know he is growing. Seems maybe kindergarten this year?
Serenity wishes up for perfect day with dad. Chocolate cupcakes yum yum.
We are quiet here. Coffee, scones and the newspaper.
It's too bad that your dh was having to leave today on Father's Day. I hope that you were able to have some family time.
I know you will come up with many things for those Cloth journals. I would love to see what they look like. They really sound nice.
Janie, now I'm getting it. I was wondering about the parade that your Grandson was in. I thought it was a Flag Day celebration because yesterday was Flag Day. Now I remember you mentioning about Nevada's 150 Birthday. Congrat's to Nevada!
Seren, chocolate cupcakes sounds like a winner to me! And I do feel sympathize with you about the getting up early. I have NEVER been a morning person and this day was no different.........well, it was worse. I had to get up waaay to early. Good to hear you had a beautiful weekend there.
Hippy, that sounds like a great quite day. Coffee, scones and the newspaper. Do you still get a "real" newspaper? I sure miss getting one. Online is just not the same to me.
We had very nice day at my Daughter and Son-in-law's home. His parent's and his two girl's were there early on. Unfortunately the other three Grands were not there; as they were with their dad. I sure missed seeing them.
We boiled shrimp with corn and potatoes and Shea made the BEST red beans and rice. Oh and also delicious cornbread. I did tell her it was the best I've ever had and I think she really appreciated me saying that as she knows I cook them all the time. Looks like I need to get her recipe.
Daughter Christie and her husband Chris showed up (quite) a bit later as they were at the vacation house. Lucky for them, we did save them some food. But I was debating on whether or not to tell them there was an IceCream Cake. Well, I gave in. It wasn't going to travel with me for an hour back home without melting. lol
Wishing my wonderful Hens a great week. And I just want to say how much I love you all.
