Morning Hens,
Pls say a prayer for my nerves this morning and that nothing bad will happen to me in the dentist chair! I go in this morning. Dreading it sooooo bad. I never ask anyone to go with me anywhere but this time I did and it was my mom and now she can't because she broke her shoulder. I tell you I am a big baby when it comes to the dentist!!!
Up at 5:00 this morning...worry I guess.
I have had a request for diabetic recipes. Anyone else a diabetic? Anyone else interested in diabetic recipes? I will still find a few. Just wondering if there were more people interested.
My poor Henny Penny, I have got to try to go next Saturday to the sale barn and get her some buddies. She is so depressed. She is going to bed in the middle of the day. She is the only chicken I have left now. She needs some buddies to hen peck lol.

I'm sending positive dental thoughts to you! So sorry about your Mom's shoulder.
After the holiday sugar fest I decided to completely eliminate sugar and almost all wheat from my diet. The only dairy I consume is from Greek yogurt. Everything else started tasting better...lots of vegetables and fruits. However...I have lost too much weight from this change. I struggle with a life long eating disorder so I never to anything half way. When I decide to give up certain foods, I don't cheat!
Beware of artificial sweeteners! Did you know that the sweetness of sucralose was discovered while formulating a pesticide? Stevia is the only sweetener I use since it's a plant extract.
I'm counting down in days until my son leaves for the Air Force. One week from tomorrow.... Sniff.

i'll think about recipes. there's a boy who's diabetic and had a cooking show which i loved to watch a few years back.
cherry, so good to see you. oh, i know your heart is aching about your son. wow, that's a big change in diet. are you eating beans and lentils for some fiber and protein? kefir is a good beverage if you can find it - tastes like yogurt and now it comes flavored. i agree on artificial sweeteners.
the whole week will be in the high 80's here. i have to work on my balcony plants early. the heat gets unbearable. i wish we'd go back to spring. just more housework and a nice walk today.

Cherry thinking of you and have been with your youngest going off to Air Force. Later will post a shake I am going to try. I think you might like like it and you can make in small portions as you want it. My body knows artificial sweeteners are poison and tells me so by my stomach cramping.

Cherry- Congrats to your son. I know it will be hard on you. My oldest wanted to join, but he is diabetic and has autoimmune diseases. They turned him down. I was very happy for me. Sad for him.
Serenity- remember the water for you, not just for the plants. :) High eighties would chase me back into the house. But definitely better than the snow.
Have been on quit a roller coaster ride here. Hoping something improves sooner than later.

my dr has me on limited water. my sodium levels dipped possibly b/c of a med. i never knew too much water could be dangerous. when it gets so hot, it's hard not to guzzle water. hope you'll keep checking in and letting us know how you are.
even sitting on a cushion outside hurts, but i'm going back out to play in the dirt.
Well sounds like some diabetic recipes might be well received by the group then. I will look up some tasty ones.
Survived my dental apt....barely. Then I left my purse in the Walmart parking lot:( very scary that! It was turned in though and nothing was taken.
Then son had to go cash his check, go take the test to get his drivers permit which he passed this time....lord help us all lol, and then he had to go to Walmart to get ear phones.
I am exhausted!!!
Serenity I didn't know you could drink too much either. I mean I knew you could if you were too hot.
