Morning Hens,
Suppose to thunderstorm here today....that's ok, hope it does and gets over with and is pretty tomorrow for my aunts funeral.
Getting my hair cut today, supporting the drug store then off for my aunts visitation. It's going to be a long day!

89FNo energy, just going to do whatever. Sandra, It's hard to move at a certain time in life. You've been in your home forever, at least you'll be able to travel to the beach and enjoy. Oh, we did hear Boris Johnson's tenure ended due to a series of ethics scandals, accusations of dishonesty and a final collapse of government support that forced his recognation. 88FWhat I do like is early morning clouds and then they disappear and the sun comes out. That was it's cooler in the morning. I'm sitting here looking out the window at the hummingbird with the river and dike as a back drop. It's hard to invision ever leaving but I'm also a realist with aging, especially when the luncheon we had with thirty former classmates on Monday. Sandra, we get news of...

My dad frightened us last night, he managed to fall down the last couple of steps on the stairs and banged the back of his head. Fortunately he didnt break the skin or any bones, just pulled his arm and shoulder which was already hurting beforehand. As you can imagine i was worried about concussion, but he's been fine : )
I didnt tell you about my mum, she has been on amitriptyline for years, dont know whether you know about that drug, but it can make you light sensitive (we didnt know). She's never had any problems all the time she has taken it, but she sat in the garden in the sun and had a bad reaction. Have you ever seen images of pple who have a allergic reaction to hair dye? Her face went like that.
Tablets from the chemist didnt help, tablets from the gp didnt help, she ended up in hospital in the non emergency section and the doctor looked at her skin under a light and said she also had a skin infection. You would not believe how bad she looked not having seen it for yourself. Her eyes were swollen, her face was swollen and red and its caused her so much irritation and distress, she does finally seem to be getting better, and very slowly each day looking more like the mum i know.
looking after your elderly parents is overwhelming at times!
Off the shops now, need some milk.
Take care everyone.
dixie, i can't tell if it's the thunderstorm or b/c of a hip twist yesterday, but i do feel it, too. hope it gets out fast. how did your dinner go yesterday?
empathy, sorry your weekend in the garden got rained out. i hope both your parents are ok. very sorry.
yesterday was very special for my family in so many ways. fist time seeing my sister and her new husband since their wedding, my nephew and his fiance floating on cloud 9, dad doing pretty well, and tons of delicious food. feeling very blessed (and tired/sore, but worth it). plans for today - nothing. i'll try to do a few things b/c they'll inspect a few apts this week, but not holding myself to anything.
wishing all a low pain and stress day!
Kim enjoy your time at the salon. Wishing for a sunny day there tomorrow for your Aunt's service.
Empathy glad your mum is on the mend. What a scare on your dad. We older ones are more resilient than one would expect. I am sure that was a heart stopper.
Serenity your day sounds lovely. Surrounded by the newly engaged and the newly wed. Hope you can catch up today.
Hugs to all
