Morning Hens,
Carly stop putting it off dear....go get that inspection!:)
Cherry I hope you don't get any more snow! Wish I could send you some of my buttercups.
Serenity how was the movie?
Had a good time at my brothers last night. He put on Jeff Dunham. If you haven't heard him and you need a good laugh today, look him up on youtube...he is hillarious and an outstanding ventriloquist !! We had a lot of good laughs. My favorite is Achmed the dead terrorist :)
You guys aren't going to believe this....when my dh goes to get his IV chemo...he has to get three meds. One of them is the chemo. We found out yesterday that the chemo alone is 16 thousand dollars!! I couldn't believe it!!! I waited 10 min. Was sure I misunderstood and asked the girl again. I didn't misunderstand. Now you know darn well it doesn't cost 16 thousand dollars to make that medicine! No telling what the others cost. And he has to have 6 of them:( the lady at the hospital is trying to find some financial help for us.
I tried to get on the gov. Web site again yesterday to apply for insurance and it keeps crashing. So frustrating!! I don't think they want us to have insurance! I think they are only taking so many. Their website not working is a hoax!
That's my rant for the day!
Go watch Jeff Dunham....he will make you laugh:)
Hugs

88FWhat I do like is early morning clouds and then they disappear and the sun comes out. That was it's cooler in the morning. I'm sitting here looking out the window at the hummingbird with the river and dike as a back drop. It's hard to invision ever leaving but I'm also a realist with aging, especially when the luncheon we had with thirty former classmates on Monday. Sandra, we get news of...

Kim, We have seen Jeff Dunham twice and he is just awesome!
I can not believe that chemo is so expensive. Like you said how in the world can they justify that sky high cost!!
I sure hope that the hospital can help you with some financial aid.
I have heard of some in your position and they got some kind of discount… I pray that this works out for you and T.
I have heard that the government insurance web site is a real pain in the a.. here in WI too!
Very frustrating for so many.
I have not been around because of pain issues… the 4 injections in my lower spine have really not helped at all and just so sick of all of this crap!!!
But another day is here and I as always will try to make it a good one.
I am going to visit my FIL today and see how he is doing as he has been dealing with a terrible infection in his foot probably from his life time diabetes.
Blessings to all of you today.
Scary about your FIL's foot. Hope he can get rid of that infection fast. Hope your day improves Cindi. Hugs
Kim...drug companies make so much money! Our state now has it's own single payer insurance that everyone has to sign up with and their website is having as many problems as the national one! I think they should just give in and hire some kids to straighten them out!
Cindi...it was good to catch up with you this morning. I don't think I'd buy another ticket to the injection ride if it hadn't helped by now!
It's so damned cold here, but at least it stopped snowing...for now! Was -12 this morning. Still in single digits and it's noon! I can't seem to talk myself into starting my frozen, snow covered car and I need to do errands. I got a wood fire started instead...still deciding about venturing out.
Hugs and clucks...
Dixie, that is REDICULOUS for a pill to cost that much money!!!! I can't believe they are able to get away with that! I pray the lady at the hospital can find some sort of financial assistance for you.
Good to hear you had a nice time at your brother's. I need to check out Jeff Dunham. The name sounds familiar.
Well, I knew I couldn't put it off any longer because my car situation was not going to go away on it's own. So I went for the inspection today and........................IT PASSED!!!!!! I was shocked! The guy asked me if I had noticed the grinding my steering wheel was making when I turned and I said....uuuuuh yeah. He said that he looked into the power steering well and it was very low on fluid so he filled it up and the grinding went away. He also looked in the brake well and it was ok. He doesn't know why the red brake light is on. So I said, Oh I guess it didn't pass. And then he told me, yes it did pass. I told him I wanted to jump across the counter and give him a hug!!!! I was soooo happy.
I'm glad I didn't take my gf advice and just go get the brakes fixed first. I know the BMW place would certainly have found something wrong and it would have cost a lot more than the inspection sticker. :-) Problem is they are the only ones who can turn off the break light warning, but not a problem, I've got another year. ;-) But I am tired of looking at it.
Now that everything turned out ok I might even tell dh what I've been dealing with for these months. He will still gripe but all's well that ends well. He will be home tomorrow instead of Sunday as usual but the fence was finished and the kids are leaving on Saturday....not sure why. They have been gone since Wed and school starts again on Monday so I guess they need to get the kids settled in and ready for school. SIL is a Principal and DD a teacher, plus 5 rugrats to get unpacked and ready for the next day.
Cindi, sorry the injections aren't working for you. Hope your FIL is doing ok and they get rid of the infection.
Cherry, If those errands can wait I would surely not go out in that mess. I would curl up with a good book and enjoy your wood fire. Sounds cozy.
I hope that all the Hen's have a wonderful, warm, and painfree weekend.
Much love and hugs to all.
