Morning hens,

I just got more bad news. My aunts cancer has spread into her liver. They are giving her 6 mo. To a year. They found a spot on her lungs and did a pet scan to see if it had spread and told her that it hadn't. Then did radiation and chemo. Then did another pet scan. I feel so bad for her. Now I'm also worried about my dh....what if it's spread and the CT scan didn't show it? My aunt had the pet scan which detects better than a ct and they still missed it. I hate cancer so bad!!! You would think they would have found a cure by now!!!

Anyway, mom and I may go over to see her today....that's all I have planned.

Dix, hun, they have found a cure. Now-a-days there are so many more success stories than the opposite. If I think on how many people I know who have had cancer, there have been two fatalities and those were because it was found way too late, and at LEAST 10 success' in the last 15 years. That is huge! I know pumping sunshine into a worried heart will only last so long, but there is a cure and the doctors are now aware of your dh's condition and are working on it. You two will get through this. You got good news and you are not your aunt's case. The odds are in your favor and next year at this time you will be celebrating.

I'm baking pies today. Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada. I'm going to have a 5lb turkey for immediate family as my sister is having a big dinner postponed for next weekend when everyone can attend. Much love to be thankful for.

Kim, I am so sorry about your aunt and keeping dh in my prayers.
I lost my dad to cancer at a very young age and hate it too!!!

May God be with your family!!

Today I am going to visit a friend who does not have much time with us.... She is sad and scared and we both love the visits that we have!!

Blessings sent to all when we go through our own difficult times ..... it sure can be hard.

Yes Angela... like you said there are so many more success stories now that it is amazing!!!!
There have been SO many breakthroughs in cancer research.

dixie, i'm very sorry about your aunt. like enigma and cindi said things are getting so much better in detection and treatment. i'm sure they would have done at pet scan if they had doubts. i, too, pray you'll be celebrating this time next year. for now i'm praying for you both and for the dr's wisdom in handling this. and for your aunt to handle her battle.

i, too, got bad news about my aunt. they found a brain tumor this week, but after a second CT with contrast, they found it's benign, so they can do laser surgery which will be much easier on her at 80. i, too, hate cancer and i'm a survivor. i don't know if we ever get totally passed the thought that it could strike again, but i don't dwell on that.
