Good morning sweet hens
Looks like many of you have been having a bumpy week so I hope today is a much better day.
Nothing new with me, except....I figured out how to approach the topic of introducing the topic of migraine. Instead of saying I have a migraine and suffering the stigma and having to listen to the barage of 'you should" and "have you tried" which is so disrepectful and hurtful to me.....
Next time someone says, "is something wrong", I'm going to reply...."I have a neurological brain disorder and it is causing a lot of pain." If they ask further I can educate and say 'they don't know what causes it, there is no cure, few drugs help and pain killers don't work." In other words, educate first before the migraine word. The whole thing is a lot more wordy, but it is less harmful to me than trying to defend the belittling that I have to endure.
I'll let you know when next I use it and see if it works.

I am convinced no one understands tortuous pain unless they can see gaping wounds, stitches , casts , or any other outward appearance of injury. My face can be white as a sheet from my pain and no outsider would understand I am in pain.
Brain disorder might be something they could understand. I am sorry you not only suffer but must suffer fools while suffering.

Enig, i can see your problem, tell someone you have a migraine and they think its "just a headache." You can only try what you've said and see what reaction you get.
Been food shopping for the week and cleaned out my sons room while he's out the way. He's applied for a job, please send good vibes this way: )

most people know nothing of RSD and other issues i have, so i get so tired of the suggestions as if i've been hiding under a rock saying woe is me. i say i'll email you some articles/websites if you want to know more.
hippy, i'm so sorry that you're dealing with so much pain. i wish there was something, anything to get you some relief.
i had a bit of a flare while out yesterday. i didn't tell my mother, but when i went to check out of a store i kept cancelling the charge on the screen. i apologized to the cashier saying i'm sorry i'm in pain and my brain won't work. i think it was the storm moving in here, too.
but i have a bunch of pretty plants to put in pots this weekend and a few other bargains i really needed. it was a good day after all. it's cool and windy today, so i'm not sure i'll do it. have to get downtown before my bus pass expires and get cat food, etc.
