After working for a couple hours yesterday morning, I pushed myself a little further and went to our county fair, too. It takes place right in my town and last year was the first time in my life that I didn't make it. Saturday is the day I've always taken my Grandchildren and I was so depressed after missing it last year that I knew there was no physical pain that would be worse than doing that again.
My Grandaughter and I trudged all over the place together. She is such a sweet, considerate kid and has learned to slow down for my benefit. Ive missed so many late day events because of pain that when I can join in for something, she is so excited.
We found a vendor with a huge selection of scarves...I bought us each one. Then it was off to the Sugar Shack for maple ice cream! It was in the 80s and I started overheating...I had taken pain meds an hour early in order to handle this outing and then I think the temperature was causing a Fentanyl boost, too. The sweat was pouring off me by the time I hobbled my way back to my car.
I felt sick, dizzy and pretty much out of it by the time I got home. All this activity was with less than 2 hours of sleep the night before...nothing new there. But it hasn't made me feel any worse than usual this morning and I wouldn't trade that time with my Grandaughter for anything.
in NYC there were so many street fairs in my neighborhood with food, lemonade, vendors of everything, but country fairs are the best...i love the livestock and the old arts like quilting and canning. there's one near here if i haven't missed it, so maybe i can talk someone into going.
cherry, sounds totally worth it even though it took a lot out of you. what a sweet Gd...glad you made it.
i just need to catch up on so much...no idea what i'll do!
hope everyone has the best day possible!
Cherry was good to hear you got to have some fun too!
Serenity, the quilting is my favorite at the fair too. One of these days I might just enter one. If I ever get back to quilting. It's so expensive any more.
I still have kids. They camped out in the barn loft again. You guys should have seen it! Some camping/roughing it they did. I went out to check on them and they had the TV up there playing the xbox!!! Plus a computer and other electronics. They had so much hooked up they didn't need a light. All the electronics had the whole barn loft lit up!! Funny, there they were layed back on Bing bag chairs having a good ole time.:)
My son has a horrible blistering rash on his neck. He says it burns and hurts. Doesn't itch and it's pretty big blisters. I can't imagine what on earth it could be. Guess I will take him to the dr. Mon.
Hope everyone has a nice sunday.
Hugs
Everyone seems to be having their county fairs now. Ours is always in September.
I haven't been in along time but used to enjoy it.
Our weather is wonky today and I have a migraine. The sun is shining but it rains.
Right now it is thundering. I have my sunglasses on and am alternating heat and ice.
Trying everything. Firocet, caffeine, ice, heat , no light, finally able to take my 7.5 norco and a muscle relaxer.
I want what you have Angela.....the ice bonnet.
Dixie hope you figure out the rash with son. Has he had chicken pox? They usually start on trunk. Neck sounds like an allergy. Glad tomorrow is Monday and off to doctor for him. Hang on my friend. How cool
To camp out in the loft.
