1. Forgive those who have hurt you. Holding onto past hurts or offensive harbors stress in your life which we all know causes us pain. It's not worth the effort it takes to hold a grudge.
2. Embrace Change, this includes the change in your life of CP. You simply must except it in order to move on.
3. Do things your future self will thank you for. This includes taking care of your body physically and mentally. If you let yourself go, your going to be much worse off in the future than you would if you took the extra steps now to take care of yourself. To do everything you can to improve your situation as well.
4. Take care of yourself first. This isn't being selfish. This is taking care of you first so that you will be able to give of yourself or help others when you need to.
5. Work at being positive. Being positives decreases stress levels which of course can decrease pain levels.
6. Be thankful for the troubles you don't have.
7. Enjoy the little things in life
8. Prioritize....we've heard this over and over and it can't be stressed enough as to how important this is. Remember the spoons!!!
9. Ignore other people's ignorance and negativity about you. Don't let this make you angry, simply except that they do not understand. Unless you are able to explain it to them and even then sometimes they still can not understand untill they have actually experienced your situation.
10. Listen to your body. Stop when it says enough! Cry when you need to, ask for help when you need to, rest when you need to, doing these things will help you get through the day much easier.
9.accept the fact that the past is not today.
11. Love yourself and /or be good to yourself.
12. Rember the Golden Rule: Treat others as you would treat yourself.
I believe the point of this list is so that we can feel the best we possibly can. The less stressful we can make our life the better. If you don't believe that stress can have some serious effects on your condition, do just a little research. A little is all it will take!
Feeling the best we can and taking care of ourselves leaves us more open to the opportunities to help others, to be there for our family and friends and to help lesson our pain levels.
Please add to this list or comment. Thanks

Either we don't believe how important such simple things can make a difference in our lives or we forget. Which is it?
Maybe we need to copy it and paste it to the refrigerator.
I will say , that accepting your condition is key to moving on and having a successful life as a CP'er.
We don't have a choice! It's time to do what we can to make it where we can have a life as normal as we can get for a cp'er! (hope that makes since)

For me a lavender epsom salt bath and allowing my neck down in the water will often relieve some of the pain.I always wonder why I don't go there sooner.
The twelve are wonderful. I sure would like to hear about other ways the hen's use to cope. Maybe someone will start another thread. Also does anyone have a husband who is retired and if so can they tell me how to stay calm and cool during all the interactions we have during the day?
Thanks for the Twelve Dix
