Many times people will ask what that can do for someone with CP, here's a list. You might even want to print it out and give it to family members who are always asking. I know many of us will not ask for help, but we sure appreciate it when someone just does things for us!
1. Slow down. Someone with CP can't walk or do things as fast as normal people.
2. Help change a bed. It's one of the hardest chores for peopel with CP
3.Don't ask, just do it. Most people are too shy to ask for help.
4. Learn about their condition and believe them.
5. Fix an occasional meal and drop it off, even nice left overs are appreciated!
6. Help with kids
7. Give a car lift or ask if you can pick something up while your at the store.
8. Lend a hand. When a CP'er has problems with their hands, sometimes help with typing or writing, opening jars, or even doing hair can be a big help.
9. Yard work is another chore that is appreciated.

she would pretend to go to the bathroom and clean the litter box for me! i'd never ask her to do that, but that was the nicest thing she could do!!
I got a dose of reality yesterday when, because I could barely walk, my client asked me if I'd been tested for MS. That one still stings...
What people don't understand about migraines is this thing called aphasia, (words coming out jumbled or sentences backwards, or that I can't get the word from the brain to the mouth). When I am really hurting bad, it is when my guys know that I'm at my worse, so they don't make a big deal about finishing my sentences, and they say, I understand, and I so appreciate that.
What sometimes stings is when someone who has been educated on aphasia, will make fun of my speech. I'm not sure if they are being playful or being mean.
I have also had the pleasure of doing some of these for others during my times in my life.
