I've watched it a couple times. The surgery is an attempt to save their lives. I actually know a couple people who have had that done, although they were nowhere near that overweight. It has it's risks and side effects. Anemia is a long-term possibility. If you don't change eating habits, you can regain the weight which can be dangerous too.

MY NEICE HAS HAD THAT DONE. SHE WEIGHTED ALMOST 500 POUNDS. SHE REALLY NEEDED THERAPY BUT IT ALL CAME TOGETHER SHE IS SMALL NOW BUT HAS TO WATCH EVERYTHING THAT GOESS IN HER MOUTH. NOT FROM WORRY OF GAINING WEIGHT BACK BUT FROM THE HORRIBLE ADDICTION OF FOOD. WHAT MIGHT SET HER OFF AGAIN.

ANY UPSET COULD. FRIEND HAD IT DONE, DIABETIC. NOT SURE THEY SHOULD DO IT ON DIABETICS. HARDER TO MAINTAIN SUGAR. FRIEND WAS ADMITTED URGENTLY TO HOSP LATE LAST YEAR, BY NEXT DAY THEY PUT HER INTO A COMA FORA FEW WEEKS AND FOUGHT FOR HER. HAD TO KEEP FOOD FOR SUGAR LEVELS, FIGHT INFECTIONS AND REASON SHE WAS THERE THROUGH TUBES, AND REMEMBER BANDING TO GET ENOUGH INTO HER FOR SUGAR NEEDS. REALLY CAME CLOSE A COUPLE OF TIMES. HER LIFE NOW HAS GONE 180 DEGREES.

I WATCHED SEASON FINALE TONIGHT. THIS WOMAN WEIGHTED 800 POUNDS. BUT REASON WAS AND SHE WAS A PRETTY BLACK LADY WHEN YOUNG AND SKINNY. HER BOYFRIEND TOOK HER HOSTAGE FOR A FEW DAYS AND WLDNT LET HER OUT. THREATENED TO KILL HER MANY TIMES AND RAPED HER. (SHE GOT PREGNANT THEN) HE SOMEHOW GOT POLICE CALLED ON HIM AND HE WENT AFTER THEM AND SHOT ONE OF THEM AND KILLED THE OTHER. WENT INTO HIDING BUT GOT CAUGHT. SHE IS STILL RELIVING IT AND TURNED TO FOOD FOR COMFORT. I FELT SO SORRY FOR HER.

SOME PEOPLE USE ALCOHOL TO AVOID EMOTIONAL PAIN, SOME USE CIGARETTES, SOME USE DRUGS, SOME SELF-HARM, SOME USE FOOD. DEEP PAIN PLUS ADDICTION IS VERY HARD TO SHAKE. ONE EXAMPLE; THE MOLECULES IN WHEAT BIND TO THE SAME RECEPTORS IN THE BRAIN AS COCAINE AND HEROIN.

I have heard of great results from people who went over the border to Mexico for their bypass surgery. I know people who work in the hospital where it is done.

Why have to go over the border to do this.Insurance o rmaybe none??

If you go over the border you will need cash. It isn't expensive at all and a very popular operation! I know 2 people who work at that hospital. Of course there are different cities you can go to. The dentists are also cheap!

Just curious, wondering what this surgery does cost, here and Mexico. That Dr in TX has made bunches then does the sk in surgery to.

I will ask my granddaughter about the cost. Her husband and mother in law both work at the hospital where it is done. I am not overweight myself so am not really interested, that's why I have never inquired about the cost. I will find out!
