Coming home to an empty home after years of the hectic days of raising children, especially if you did it alone.
I was a stay at home mom.
When my son left after the summer I was lost. I still am. My kids were always my life. Actually when Covid hit at the beginning and everyone was working from home etc, I had my daughter come home and work from here and my son was home from school. So I felt good the entire time. My anxiety is so situational. I tell my therapist this (yes I do go to therapy partially for empty nest syndrome). That i feel my anxiety would all go away if everyone still lived at home. I mean I guess our job is to prepare them to live and have a life. But, yes it has affected me very hard.
I also would cry. I will see young mothers with their little kids or infants and I wish I could go back.
So, I get it!
I do not really know how to help but I am in the same boat.
Also, put you posts under anxiety or depression. There is a lot of help in those groups.
My best to you. And know you are not alone
