I think for the most part... there are good people out there. We just don't hear of them as much as the "other" ones. When was the last time you saw footage like this on the 6 o'clock news???
LOL - yes well PPB - there are nice people in Russia too -
And BJ - you are so right. This probably would not make the 6:00 o'clock news - it's uplifting - it seems the news wants us to be totally depressed by bad news.
Thanks for posting LJ. Actually those people were just visiting Russia and were from the USA....
LOL just kidding !
I bet we could all think of good deeds people have done for others and ourselves too. Even in other countries they still do care for one another. Twice I left my purse in the grocery cart at Walmart and drove home. Only to return a few minutes later and someone had taken it to the service desk with everything still left in it. Not too bright on my part but a blessing never the less to know people are still willing to do the "right thing".
Oh I have such a good story on those same lines blue.
i was in Vegas - back when I was drinking, many years ago. My husband and I had a literal knock-down fight. Someone called security - so i packed and left - getting a cab at 2:00 a.m.
The taxi driver kept telling me there were no planes out of Vegas until 8:00 a.m and insisted that I would be more comfortable where he and 3 of his taxi driver friends lived, along with a prostitute.
Being as drunk as i was - I said "okay" - even knowing that i would be left on the road, dead. He was taking back roads as i was wondering where he was going to leave my body but he took me to a very small apartment where they all lived together. i woke up the next day - alive :)
I left my gold watch on their coffee table and as the taxi driver was pulling out of the driveway to get me to the airport - the prostitute came running out of the front door with my gold watch in her hand - yelling stop!!
She wanted to make sure that my gold watch was returned to me.
i would not have ever realized that the watch was missing until I got home and unpacked and I would have not know where I left it, given my condition - bless her heart.
We should never judge people based on who we THINK they are - was the moral of that story for me. Oh and I've been sober for many years now.
This was nice... Thankx for posting it !
