I never received any Valentine's day gifts, because my late husband regarded it as a waste of money. But to me such a gift is a token of appreciation, and saying "You are special to me". So yesterday I bought myself a box of chocolates and a beautiful valentine's day card, and I wrote a very special message to myself, inside the card. It really made me feel very special! My lovely card is still on top of the TV stand, and every time I look at it, I feel really good!
Good for you, Andelene! You are taking good care of yourself and honoring your uniqueness. I'm glad you had a Happy Valentine's Day - hugs to you!
Amen!!!
It's nice to treat ourselves to such induldgences from time to time. My ex just hated to shop (unless it was a tool or piece of equipment for himself).
Since my ex was such a putz.....I always bought my own birthday, Christmas, anniversary, etc gifts and so it's second nature.
I quit smoking 10 months ago (today) and with the money I have saved, I treat myself at milestone or whenever the mood hits me.
Thanks for setting an example of how we should love and induldge ourselves....especially for special occassions.
Good for you Andalene and don't just restrict it to Valentine's Day....Do it often and remember it made you feel special because you are special.
