I am pretty new to DS and have been mostly hanging out at PEACE and the other site until it started feeling like Jr High and my FOO. I know several of you and am looking forward to getting to know the rest of you.
Thanks Cara for the invite and Rising and Paws and Hog for letting me know about this place. Barb, you got me at:
"While most of us here are on the "moving past it all" journey... we are also here to support those who trip and fall on occasion... (it happens to all of us once in a while...). You'll find that many posts have nothing to do with estrangement. (Moving on...!)
Yes... there is a strict "No Drama" policy... which is easily adhered to by simply respecting other people's opinions. We affectionately call this the "adult" room! LOL!"
P.S. Actually, it's very nice to know that there are several wonderful DS sites to help us on the journey from estrangement. . . same road but different scenery. . .
Glad to see you here Kb And yes they are so many sites for estrangement (how sad there neds to be!) And there are so many levels of pain to go thru and each site has a sounding board for all of them!!! Thank god for all those who took the times to create these places in cyber space to run to when it feels like our world is spinning out of control! :)
Nice to be here. Yes, i am learning about the many levels of pain and growth. I mean to title this post "another refugee".referring to myself, but this group could be referred to as another refuge!!
I agree Cara, much gratitude for those who took the time to start and admin these groups. And all the people who hang out here teeling their stories and giving support and compassion...and music and recipes!
Awww LOL ((((((((((((STILL))))))))))))))))))) You know I adore you!!!!! IM so glad to have you as a friend ....;0~~
You have been a behind the scene wonderful friend and advisor LOL!!! <wink>
Welcome Kbfree! Glad to have you here with us other refugees from PEACE......99% of us started there! it's a fine site, and a wonderful place for those just beginning the arduous Estrangement journey.......at some point its is best to move on for our own sanity and well being....time marches on and so must we!
Many of us stayed at PEACE to pay it forward, all the things we learned and gained from others that went before us. For me, I knew it was time to go when I didn't feel like crying everyday until I read the post from the newbies....their heartbreaks broke my heart over and over again. I still check in, lurk about to see what old friends are up to, and will always be grateful for PEACE in my life!
Aw, it's not so bad over there ;-) Sometimes we even LAUGH!!! And teach others how to as well. So, it's all good.
But it's nice here, too, where we can relax and actually take a break from the woes of constantly facing the bad part of reality. . .that, too, is a vital lesson to learn, the one that has helped me the most, I think.
I love it over at PEACE..it is the other site that begins with P that I choose to leave.
About 18 months ago i decided to let go of anything that does not serve me...Very next day, all hell broke lose. and i realized the abuse from disrespectful kids needed to go. Since then......I have lost some friends, about 25 lbs of me, a career I loved but it did not love me, the death of two of my scapegoating relatives and various other things But I gained a new wardrobe, my hobby took on a life of it's own morphing into a business that serves me well, a lot of peace and quiet ,some new friends, one daughter seeing me in a new way, a new budding self respect which I am still learning how to grow and put into practice and for which I seek support at these groups.
Beautiful Story Kb with an awesome Begining and more to come!!! Love it!!!
