under your pic, as that little box drops down showing a your groups etc, beside My Profile, click edit. Click update picture. On the right click upload file. Wait as your computer file opens, go to my pictures (if that's were the picture is) click on it, then click open. That should upload it. you'll be back on the edit profile page and you can then crop the pic. Either go to the edges or corners of the little outline box with your cursor, click and hold to move outline box around. I had to play with it for awhile to figure that out myself. Most of the time it's cooperative, but sometimes isn't. The bottom pic will be what your pic will look like, Click done then your done.

i can try to walk you through getting the photo up here. do you have a printer/scanner? if you do, you can scan the photo and save it on your computer. if you don't there are other ways. we can talk if you want. just let me know.

What I find funny, my wife took all these computer courses and she always calling me to do something for her with her computer and I haven't taken any. I just go to youtube, type in how to do this or that and watch someones tutorial. There's a woman there that has a channel specifically for seniors she explains things very well and simple. Not calling you a senior, darlin, since I find ALL women are like a fine wine, only getting better with age. Even my wife, although at times I think she turning to vinegar lol, yet at times, so am I. I haven't been able to find her channel since I didn't subscribe to her channel, but I'll hunt around and see if I can find her again and I'll post it, When in doubt ask a 5 year old! The picture is on the computer, but with all the directions, I just cannot follow them all. My brain doesn't work so well any more. Someone would have to come show me how to do it. I am so computer illiterate. If it can be made simple with only one or two steps I might be able to follow the instructions. Buff, I really appreciate your trying to help, but it seems so complicated to me. Serenity, I would like your advice also. Right now, I don't know where the original picture is, but I will see if I can find it. I also have other pictures I could use in my picture files. Thanks again everyone.

Maybe seeing it this way as steps may, help. I often get overwhelmed too and have to simple break everything down in bits. This is the same just may be easier to follow, hope it helps.

grammagus, it would be much easier to show you, but here's a video on how to upload to facebook which is about the same as DS. i hope that seeing this will make it easier, but you will have to switch back and forth between the video and DS.

you can upload to 3 different areas on DS - your profile photo, your own photo section or in the group photos. on your computer your photos may be stored in your documents folder or your pictures folder. photos have the ending .jpg.
