I recently heard a great 2007 song the other day, "Falling Slowly" because it popped up in my newsfeed, accompanied by the sad news that the male singer, Glen Hansard, just died in a motorcycle accident. I learned that the song won an award and was featured in an indie movie called Once. I just watched it, and it's really good. They made it in 3 weeks on a $100,000 budget. It's streaming on...


When I was a kid, my neighbors had a copy of that movie on VHS. First time I ever heard that song was watching the film at their house when I was like 9 with their 7 year old daughter (despite the film's title and all, it's pretty tame. Pretty sure it's a PG rating). I still can remember a lot of the songs from it too...
A great movie and yes I'm sure it was rated pg, well back then movies weren't rated the way they are now. If they only knew what was coming their way, right?
I remember Dolly singing that song many times and I can remember her saying (while Whitney was still alive) that it didn't bother her that Whitney sang it, because she sang it better than she ever had
