Sorry you're dealing with these headaches. I get pretty bad ones from my cervical problems and take medications for the migraines which help sometimes. I never had it called rebound pain from meds though. Hope it eases for you.
Love and hugs,

So it depends.
That is why meds should be carefully weaned off of--- and pain meds in my experience *have* to be weaned off. Or you *do* get rebound. Narcotics especially---opiates---and to be honest, even NSAID pain relievers like Celebrex or Mobic---so let's say you're on morphine 5 mg twice a day for a year. You do *not* want to be taken off that in a matter of days---more like months to be safe, unless hospitalized.
Physiology is *not* to be trifled with.
They tried to take me off a seizure med the wrong way and I got my butt in the ER from a rebound seizure--- I've had it from anxiety meds till they changed them--- so while rebound is a real effect, it is not the only cause of problems, and careless docs can be as big a cause as anything else.
Pain meds can affect blood pressure, so if you get a rebound spike from that, it would be a big issue atop other big issues.
No idea if that was at all helpful. My MIL had horrible headaches for months after a mild concussion, and that was *with* morphine, so...my symapthies and I hope you can get some relief and some better answers than "rebound"--- and if you're getting rebound, how the bleep is the doc dealing with the meds that you're even getting rebound?
Hugs,
Leo
Tell your doctor your friend said he's a dumbass for the way he treats you though. I hope you get a handle on the headaches. I can't even think straight when I have one and I'm pretty sure they are not as painful as yours.s
((((Martin))))
I've fired so many docs, LOL....
Martin not for the first time have I thought you need a new doc. I've fired so many I've lost count! I'm happy with who I have now, hopefully I get to keep her. Hope hope hope you find one that makes you feel comfortable and keeps you safe.
Keep a journal of when you take meds, pain times, pain levels, etc.... maybe you'll start seeing a pattern and you'll also have it for a new doctor who will take you very seriously if you walk in with it.
Super Hugs............Toni
I do question when doctors take the quick answer. I have different types of headaches. I have a 24/7 headache from my last car wreck. It never stops and may never stop because of the brain injury. I have a tension headache. That one is treatable. You may need a second opinion from a neurologist who specializes in headaches.
Hope you find a doctor who hears you soon. Hugs-RJ
Trust me folks I am looking for a new docotor. The only reason I have kept this one is becasue he is a mile from home and he also takes me at 4:45 so I dont have to take time off of work.
Been to 5 neurologist, none of them understand my condition an (SAH).
last nite I laid in bed in pain for 2 hours writhing in pain. The reason in is between my pain clininc and the insurance company it took 9 days to get rx approved. So Im always 9 days behind.
Thanks to everybody for their great support and advice.
Yes working as a financial advisor with 9-10 headaches is PURE torture.

Hang in there. We're rooting for you. Do you live near any Lelve 1 Trauma Centers like Johns Hopkins/Maryland, or Duke in NC? They usually have some pretty hard-core neurologists. I'm sure you thought of it, but I live not far from one and it does mean good neuros.
