The mortgage papers on our house... there goes my arm, leg and at least one kidney.....

I forgot about this one. The first time my grandson went on a week long trip with his class. Being a sexual abuse survivor, every scenario played out in my mind as I stared at the form. Eventually it was a "give it God" moment. He had a great time. I must say lots of prayers were said, but they were more like barking orders lol.

WB, I can't imagine how that must've been....

I was nervous as heck when I signed my will. I kept thinking, "OK, does this mean I'm gonna die now?" No idea why, just.... y'know.... nerves.

oh, i've been thinking about this all day b/c i haven't signed that many important things i wasn't sure about, but my DNR before surgery just came to mind.

good one: living will.....copies have went to every hospital around here........just handed it out when I had a test, surgery or such done.

The papers I signed to have my best friend committed. She was Bipolar and in a manic phase. She had shaved her head, put on a dog collar and gave telephone eviction notice to a rest home she didn't own. The family was too scared to do it. I finally did because a psychiatrist I trusted implicitly told me she would die without treatment.

Her kids were calling me daily telling me I was the only person she'd listen to but I knew how afraid she was of commitment . I made a deal with God. I would sacrifice my friendship with her if he restored her to some level of sanity again so she could return to being the loving, gentle person she was before, especially with her kids.

I held up my end of the bargain. So did God.

That's what you call a true friend...

dianna, i know how hard that must have been and you ARE a true friend. i hope that she has a much better life now thanks to you.

I've run into Vicky from time to time. She is back to being a mother to her son but she seems still somewhat vacant. She does run up and hug me when she sees me. I think she now knows why I signed those papers and is grateful. Although we don't speak anymore, I'm really ok with that. And yes, what I did, I did out of love for my best friend. Thank you God.
