This morning one of my neighbors left a suicide note on my door. I think he was just asking for help. Of course I went into mothering mode and decided against going over due to some of the info in the note. I called the police and they came, 2 of them, 2 fire engines and an ambulance. They took my neighbor on a stretcher, but he was still alive as he answered the door when the police knocked. I did what I could, then I went to church so I could concentrate on prayer. Sorry FC I just had to let out the shock of someone leaving a note on my door. I guess he knew I would do something.
no need for apologies and i'm very glad you let the authorities handle it and had your special time in your church. God is the great healer and that time is very important.

When something voices suicidal thoughts or intentions, it's not my job to know if he/she is telling the truth. No way I could know for sure. But what if I didn't call and the person died? That would effect me for the rest of my life. It's like nails down a chalkboard when someone said "Oh, he's not gonna kill himself. He just wants attention". We're not qualified to make that decision. At least I'm not. And I worked at a psychiatric hospital for close to 10 yrs which included assessing people for admission.
I'm so sorry this was done to you. But my hat is off to you for your actions. In my opinion, you rock!
