Today was mine and my husband 20th anniversary.
( as well as his birthday)
It was not spent at all like I expected.
...One of it's highlights was a long nap. :-) :-)
..I was starting to feel..
Kinda sorry for myself, I'd say..
Then I looked at my beautiful daughter.
With her horrendus craniotomy scar and half her head shaved..
But..ALIVE!!!
And.. not a vegetable paralized on her right side
( that is what they tried to prepare us for after her surgery..
A four centimeter stroke is considered large.. hers was well over seven)..
She's had a hard couple of days.
..asked me yesterday if she was going to die.
Then said again later she wanted to get babtized in case she dies.
But..she is here.
..this day could not be better than that.
..in spite of the strokes affects on even her personality..
She is still " her " there as well.
This thread is about gratitude.
I'm ashamed I let my slip for a moment today.
Every day that my daughters heart beats..
Every beat..
Is more than enough to be greatful.

I feel that being grateful is more fulfilling than a dinner on the town.
Continuing prayers for you and your daughter. So much to be grateful for, be happy for every accomplishment. That includes keeping a strong marriage throughout all of your challenges.

It's funny how as time moves along, its the little things which in turn are really the big things that we are grateful for. There's no doubt that Jamie gets her fighting spirit from you. She is a living, breathing miracle that has given hope and inspiration to many, I know she has to me big time. Happy grateful day my friend!
