So..
Been keeping quiet-ish..'cause I don't want to be a downer for the holidays.
.. in addition to the usual..
My osteoporosis has really started breaking me down.
I'm supposed to see a .. podiatrist for surgery on my feet..
Orthopedic surgeon, because my shins are bending, and my knees coming off their tracks..
An ENT for some tests.. and to " open up" my esophogus..
A neurosurgeon..
Because some of my discs are infringing on my spinal cord now ( no longer just stenosis into the arms/legs)
Aaand.. a whole bunch of the " minor" stuff.
Mainly, though..
My emphysema has worsened rapidly.
I now have bullous emphysema in both upper lobes.
( Vanishing Lung Syndrome)
It's reached the point that.. without drama..
I have to start making plans for Jaimies and Eli,
For when I can no longer take care of them.
And/or I'm not here.
Nobody has said " terminal"..
But..
Well.. it is what it is.
I have a strong sense that it won't be any of the things that will creep up on me
( cardio/pulmonary ..)..
But, likely a sudden event.
I backed out of all of my appointments..
Because I tried to do to much at once..
So.. hope to be meeting with my Dr. soon to discuss what order
I should be addressing everything in.
Anyway..
I'm in lousy enough shape to be getting doses of meds usually reserved for terminal patients..
Which makes it possible for me to do what I can for Jaimies and Eli for now.
.. sorry if this. is "dry"..
Just don't want to be dramatic.
Sorry I haven't been answering inquiries..

You are not being dry nor a downer. This is your life. You are giving us the gift of sharing in one of the most difficult times in anyone's life and this just happens to be yours.
There are no words of wisdom or suggestions. Just words of support, love and complete understanding that this must be on your terms. You know your daughter, grandson and will provide the best transition in this heartbreaking time in their life.
Your husband is going through many different emotions and my heart aches for him. My heart aches for you and the choices medically you must decide. Again, only you can know what is right and just know I am in your corner 100%.
Naturally, I want you here. That is me being selfish.

Good lord women you have so very much going on, they should at the very least give you a two for one special lol! Seriously, I am glad you cancelled all your appointments so you could take a step back and catch your breath. I am so glad that you'll be meeting with your Dr to discuss the best way and order to proceed in.
I sure wish I could be there with you, but know I will be there in spirit.

Never a grinch or downer are you. Happy to hear they are taking care of the pain which allows you to have the time with Jaimie and Eli. Keeping you somewhat comfortable.

i'm glad you're letting your dr. help you figure out what to deal with in what order. that sounds overwhelming mentally and physically. being honest with us is not being a downer.
so muchy more i want to say, but can't find the words right now.
