I've had NO holiday spirit this year.
I was remembering today that..
Before pain got bigger than me..
Six yrs ago in January..
I used to love any excuse for a celebration.
( I'm not talking about the drinking and using yrs..that was surely no celebration)
But.. after that.
And ..one very speciall to me..
Was Christmas Eve Eve.
Originated because I wanted my husband to open a present he wasn't supposed to open until Christmas Eve. :-) :-) :-)
And..by happy coincidence..hence..I would get to open one, too.
So..it stuck.. and we celebrate Xmas eve ever after until I became so unwell.
Ha! Also.. my birthday Eve... Easter Eve...
And.. ocassionaly..on special ..well..occasions.. :-) :-) .. would celebrate the eve eves of those, , as well :-) :-)
Soooo..again..
HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY CHRISMAS EVE EVE TOOOOOO YOOOUUU.

I totally understand honey. Since having to quit working and not being able to go out shopping for everyone, which I used to enjoy surprising the kids with their favorite things, I don't have much spirit either. I went to the mall and walked around the other day hoping I'd feel like I was out shopping with everyone else, but it wasn't the same.
I used to enjoy that, even though my back would kill me. I've been hurting since I was 28 so it's been a long time for me. But I miss that part and putting up the tree, which I don't have room for anymore. I do understand a bit though.

And aw yours as special meaning and it sucks when a tradition has to end :(, but does it? Hmm maybe you need to start a new one ;).
I don't have my someone special anymore, but our "I love you's" were told on Christmas Eve. Eventually we had to find other ways to start those new traditions, some were even to go back to where we said those words :).
Where one door closes..........open a new one.
