part of the network's daytime lineup until January 3, 1975.
While most of us assume that Jeopardy !
Came out of the womb hosted by Alex Trebek, that's actually not the case.
The show was originally hosted by Art Fleming - an
actor who appeared on radio, television and 48 movies.
The show was a smash success from the early days, but in 1975, the show
shut down, coming back and then leaving again in syndication a few years later.
When the show was finally revived in 1984, Trebek
was hosting, and he hasn't given up the podium since...
