I hit the hugbook this morning. Such a sweet, positive spirit. She will be missed.

Hero's presence here one this board will certainly be missed.

She had a way with words. When she wrote she drew us in to her experiences in the garden or the field trip to NY for a doctor's appointment. When she couldn't make music with her sax she found a friend who taught her drumming/tapping. In these ways and others she became very real in my life,

It was only in private messages that her pain became real to me, To know that her dearest companion made it possible for D. to be at rest in the forest looking towards the fields brings a peace and sort of proper closure.
My heart breaks to loose such a young friend but that is the selfish part. D. Is at peace and for that I rejoice.

This is extremely heartwarming folks. You all have spoken so well in regards of how supportive Deana was. But also understand that she drew a great deal of strength and support from all of you. As I said before, she often spoke of this group and the people in it. Hippyone mentioned her interest in drumming. That friend is probably our musician friend, near where she is buried He is planning a memorial to her, with all our mutual friends, in the not too distant future. Also, an artist friends who owns a studio is thinking of having a showing of her paintings--heh, many paintings of cats! I will keep you posted.

Deana took thousands of pictures, mostly of nature, but also of the places we went. I will try to upload some of those. Also, she left some great poetry, on in particular about trees. It's long, and it will take time, but I'll try to copy it out.
