I hope you feel better soon. And your right about all coming here to support each other through the good, bad and sad times. I hope the rest of your stay is a good one and hopefully, you're well enough to enjoy it.
Tonight is a sad time for me. I lost a close cousin if mine. His name was Charlie and he always had a smile on his face because he was usually up to no good, but we always had fun together. He could cook lebenese food like nobody else could. His mom was a great cook and he'd call me and I'd go over for dinner and we'd just have a lot of laughs. At family functions, me and him always sat together because we'd be starting trouble together. He was young and only in his 60's. He leaves a son and daughter, both in their early 20's. I usted having to call my dad about it because they were so close. I'm lucky to have Scott here to help me with my pain and grief.
Sorry, I didn't mean to make this a sad post. I hope everyone has a good day today with low pain. Like Grammagus said, I too love you guys very much.
Love and hugs,
Xoxox
Mary Ellen.
grammagus, you put what this group means so beautifully! yes, we are friends and we share it all together. there's so much love and support here. you're a good friend and i'm so glad to know you :)
sorry about that cough. sometimes it's like breathing soup down here. delsym really helps me. i know you don't want to spend the end of your vacation with a cold. hope you feel better.
ME, i'm so sorry for your loss. he sounds like a wonderful and kindred spirit. thoughts and prayers are with you and the family. i'm glad that scott is there to hold and comfort you. bless you, dear. much love and hugs.
another big storm last night, but still got some decent sleep. it's just when i know i have plans and things to get ready my mind starts going early. my pain is usually lowest early in the day, so once enough coffee has gotten me going i'll get the few dishes done.
then i'll write the text of the card in calligraphy. i'm afraid this may be our last birthday with daddy, so i've been pretty emotional and i'm so glad i got connected with the chaplain yesterday. it will mean a lot for someone to visit and pray with him.
sis is picking me sometime around 11:30 and i'll go back to the nursing home with mother to help dad get settled. i want to show my face again to the staff. mother thinks they shake when they see us coming. she said they call us b**** and b, jr. so be it. we're as nice to them as we can be, but expect them to do their jobs.
anyhoo, looking forward to a special day. and i third that - i love you guys sooo much.
hope your day will be as positive as possible. big hugs!
Gramma, warm milk with honey always helped my coughing and calmed it down. Hope you get better soon.
Fay, sorry for the loss of your cousin. Such a young man with so much left to live.
Serenity, I understand what you are going through I miss my parents, esp my dad.. It's been seven years but I can't still hear his voice when he called me, I just wishninwould have lived closer tomhim so I could have see. Him more then a few times a year.
Have a good day everyone. I woke up stressed and crying again, thinking about stupid insurance they processed wrong and being in pain. Time to think of the positives of life.
Grammagus, I'm sorry that cough is hanging on. It's hard enough being sick at home and being away can make it difficult at best. I pray that you get better soon so you can enjoy the rest of your visit. Your so right about this group, it's pretty special as are you.
Mary Ellen, I am so very sorry for your loss. He sounds like he was a Helluva guy. I'm glad Scott is there to comfort you. Sending up prayers for all.
Serenity, I'm so glad you slept well last night. Your card for your dad looks really nice. I think a homemade card, one from the heart is so special. They may shake in their shoes and think your a bi*%h, but at least your not wielding a knife at them lol! I'm so couldn't resist (Lisa ducks as shoe comes flying lol) I'm really glad you were able to connect with the chaplain yesterday. I hope your pain stays low and you have a wonderful, memorable visit.
Magic, Darlin I'm so sorry you are so sad. I used to work at BCBS and know how frustrating insurance issues can be. I'm sure you've already done this, but make sure wherever you go to the dr they are clear as to which Insurance is primary & secondary. The same needs to be done at the Insurance company. I would ask for a supervisor in provider services. They can check to make sure the primary & secondary are entered correctly along with making sure there are no coding errors, I hope this helps. I sure hope as the day moves along the clouds part in your world and the sun shines through, I hope the same for outside weather. I hope your able to relax and your pain diminishes.
I have pt this afternoon with Tammy and come hell or high water I'll be there lol! Pain is off the charts so I'm so happy to be seeing her as I know she'll help get it back down to a 7 or so. On Wed I thought my foot was getting a tiny bit better, I was wrong. A lot of the pain has shifted to where the foot meets the ankle and nothing I do is helping so after pt I'll go down to the ortho office and see how soon I can get in. I'll post pics below of my foot. My big toe looks huge but it's because it's swollen & the pics don't reflect how black it is or should say it was. It's black and purple now. Anyhoo, tha-tha-that's all folks. :)
Sending up prayers for comfort and much diminished pain. I hope you all find a reason to smile today!
Love & God bless
Lisa

I wish you didn't have that persistent cough. They are so aggravating. Serenity is right. Delsym really works. I hope you get a handle on it. Hugs
Aw, hell. ME, I'm so sorry for your loss. And I'm so glad Scott was there for you. I know you mentioned Charlie before so I know you were close with him. I wish you peace and good memories of Charlie today. xoxo
Serenity, I'm so sorry for your sadness. You are so lucky that you have had your father present in your life. Mine was not. The song that always reminded me of my dad was "My Papa Was A Rollin' Stone". That's wonderful that your father will be surrounding by all "his girls". I'm glad you got to visit with the chaplain. I hope your day out with your father will be wonderful and that he is not too upset when you take him back. Love you girl.
MAGIC, damn it. Keep on that damn insurance company. Hopefully they'll straighten out what they messed up soon. Please take it easy today. Nothing worse than stress on pain. Hugs
Lisa, I'm glad you have Tammy the Punisher coming today (LOL!). You seem to have a lot of fluid build up in that foot! Have you been elevating it? What bothers me is the bruising at the bottom of the toes. I think you need more of a work up. It will be hard to see anything through the swelling though. I hope to God, you can get some help! Lots of love sweetie.
Well, I freaked out last night. Some nimrod jumped the gun here and triggered all the sirens. That's normally when a tornado touches down close to us. We had a bad thunderstorm last night which we enjoyed but could have gone without the damn sirens! In '95 when a tornado roared it's way through our town, we got NO sirens that went off. I guess now they are being over worried. Jeez, thanks a lot.
It's early yet but I think it's going to be a good day. I feel pretty good. I hope for diminished pain for our friend at the FC. Special prayers go out for Magic, Martini, Autumn, Lisa and all those I may have forgotten.
Hugs,
Dianna
Grammagus yes we are great friends here through thick and thin. I love everyone from top to bottom! Wishes up you'd get over that cough, I think it's time to get serious about it.
ME so sorry about your loss of Charlie, I remember you talking about him several times and know how special of a person he was and too you to. Prayers for all. Here if you need to talk.
Serenity glad you got some sleep to tackle the days challenges. Try not to look to far ahead with you Dad, he might be around for many moons yet. Enjoy your day with him and your mother today celebrating his special day!
Magic sorry you have these insurance troubles plaguing you. You need to pick a day that you just shut it off, like this weekend....can't do anything on the weekend anyways. Take these days and just relax from it all! Do something special just for you!
Lisa somehow I believe you will make it to Tammy! LOL! I picture you with eyes closed smelling lavender while receiving that massage ;). Glad you're going to get that ankle/foot checked out.....with all that ice I'd think that swelling wouldn't stand a chance!
Dianna glad that storm didn't hit you. It came close, maybe why the sirens went off? They didn't want to lose their citizens to Kansas! Glad you're feeling better and hope you stay that way :)
Hi Minnie hang in there with those rising pain levels! I know it's been rough for you lately in several ways, but you always make it through......remember that :)
I'm itching to get outside and play, but need to stay inside and take it easy. Nothing new, but there it is. Always feel like a kid that isn't allowed to do what I want to do. Ha! Do you all feel that way too? How can I be hyper and fatigued at the same time?! hehe. Good news, right now I'm not on fire!
Loving you all and sending bunches of hugs!
Looking forward to it!
Dianna, I know those sirens scares you. Hope you feeling good continues forever. Stay away storms,
Min, hope you have a good day.
Rocket, I understand, I wish our bodies would let our minds do as the wish. The beach sounds wonderful.
