This is the last picture of Mom and she looks tired, she is 98 there and still going strong in her beliefs that what she thinks is to be the path to follow. She was just weeks away from Hospice and that is what is amazing. Mom was one of a kind.
Today we are still dealing all the final details when someone is gone.
Sandra, Doug's birthday cake and gifts sounds like he had a good time, I like small intimate celebrations. Sigh, it took forever it seemed like for you to get the house situation settled after your Dad was gone. These are things we never think about when someone is gone. It is both countries that have so many legalities to take care of it's adding to the exhaustion we already are experiencing.
Carly, Do you cook differently when Mike is home then when you are alone? I sure do on Friday, Saturday and Sunday when Mario works at the psych hospital. I do admit to loving cereal and fruit when alone. Does Cash plan on football for playing in college?
Leo, how old is Puma?
Today is the continuation of going through things.

October is Black Cat Appreciation Month ---- to mostly raise awareness that you're not adopting a black cat until November. Why? People do hideous things to black cats in October.Locally, a lost hiker's remains were found and a "wildlife encounter" was reported. Well, 1. he was off trail and 2. no sh*t. We have wildlife in a national park. SHOCKER? Also, I expect he was encountered post-mortem....

Going through things is hard. What meant a lot to someone else may, to quote my SIL, be "junk" to others. That said, some of that junk meant a lot to my FIL so it's with me now. I'm not letting anyone take something to the dump b/c they don't understand what it meant, and I do!
Just broke a therapist this week. New therapist. The first visit: "recap your trauma". Halfway through she was fidgeting, twitching, looked desperate for help. Neurologist went well.
Carly, I also cook very differently when it's me or it's Hubby. Part of that is his post-chemo tastes. I will NOT mix blueberries with cheddar cheese. Why he likes it, we don't ask.
Sandra, I second the small gathering preference. Glad Doug had good day.
Made black forest brownies and some Halloween candies this week between app'ts and dramas. My mom, whose first language isn't even English, was complaining about the housekeepers whose first language is not English. "They shoud speak English". Or, Mom, you could use your Spanish. You know it, Mother. Oy. She was insulting enough I had to agree t opay more for them to not blacklist her. d
Ready to drop-kick this week into the trashcan!
78f here. Glad for the cool down.
Joanne, that is such a lovely picture of your Mom. It does sound like she was one of a kind in a very special way.
Do I cook different when Mike is gone? I of course do not cook at all and why would I?. My meals consist of trail mix, cheetoes and all my favorite chips and dip. That is a good day.
