i agree with the above. i think forgiveness is a little similar to the stages of grief, but maybe a little more brief...maybe. it really hurts at first to be betrayed, then see the other's perspective, accept that, and then make a choice of holding onto it or letting it go which, in my case, takes a number of tries at times.

oh, i forgot one big thing for me which is to remember in my prayers to lay it at God's feet and know how He has forgiven me. if i take it back, i give it to HIm again....

I'm forgiving. Even though I've forgiven someone, doesn't mean I still have to have that person in my life. Sometimes it's best to move forward. I can forgive but I'm not a fool! Forgiveness is cleansing to the soul.

well ... it tends to take a while of letting me dowen to bother me because I know them well to begin with so know what to expectt ....also I am not a person who goes for Coffey all the time or sees my frends even every weak ....I paint ...and ..need time ..alone when I am in pain .so I figure I must disappoint them a lot more often that they disappoint me ....that bothered me more ....
