I knew my grandpa was born and raised on Cherokee reservation, but there's not much paperwork to go very far in research. We can get to my great great grandparents and that's as far as birth certificates go. Life was hard on the trails so many didn't make it.
sorry to be so blunt
My Mother's family is from the Cherokee Nation out of Oklahoma ( maternal side ) and her Dad is from Great Britain. We found out my great, great, great Grandfather from Great Britain had 24 children with 2 wives. Interesting. His first and second wife both died in child birth.
My Father's Dad came from France and was murdered when he was 15 months old in Trail Oregon. People didn't like 6'5" Frenchmen that worked on the railroad and made boot leg whiskey. Found a lot of info. My Dad didn't realize his birthday, his Dad's and Grandpa's were all Dec. 17 bc they were dead when he was a lad and never thought about it.
Moonie my paternal side is Cherokee and my maternal side is GB. My GM had 14 children poor woman! she always looked it too.
