hugs - gentle hugs!
i remember when i was ready to reduce my pain meds, i wanted it NOW. i finally took my PM Dr's advice and it took 6 months to wean from hydros and morphine to just the MMJ. it takes time. if you do it too quickly you can really put your body through too much added stress...defeating the purpose. please be gentle on yourself thru this trying time. (((hugs)))
When you change has the doc ever considered a pain pump? ME has one and would be one to discuss it with if you have any ?'s.
Go back to rule #1.......distract. It's why we joke, goof and play games. We support like crazy here, but balance with those distractions.
Love you bunches.......
There is a pain level I get that distraction will not come in to play. The pain attacks my brain. And there is no getting around it. Maybe I am a sissy. An alien. I don't know. I can't speak, read, write. The best I can hope for is television on low and lights out. Try to calm.
Spring would be better if spring is April. I assume are reducing now to get ahead of game. Keeping you close in my thoughts dear friend and neighbor.
love and peace

Warmer weather is probably better time for a reduction. Have you tried other things beside Fentanyl patch for your pain? It did nothing for me except maybe make me fall down.
I'm with the distraction too, that's why I've been quiet. Playing vid games, watching youtube/netflix and listening to the radio all at the same time. Doesn't leave much room to focus on the pain. Yet at times it's hard to ignore.
I just wish I had a doable solution for you that would help immensely. Yet you'll always be in my thoughts and prayers,
Comforting HugsZzz....
Hell in lowering. Hell in staying static. Just really empathizing......
Hugs forever.........
Warmer weather might make it easier.
I switched from fentanyl to opana, then to nucynta. It's not easy, but it wasn't as hard as I thought
Yep... I agree with distractions!!
xoxoxoxo
Autumn
I did this, went off fentenal sp? And other ER opiods
It's been a while 2 or 3 years ago now, b4 my surgery
Going of was kinda rough,
I tapered from a 75 ? Patch
to. 50 to a 25 to ?
Anyhow there were a few rough days at each drop
And I took over a year to stop all daily pain meds and patch
And it was hard, but in the long run I have definitely felt better
since going off regular opioids and the patch.
For me quitting smoking was rougher
You can cut down quite a bit, but I'd say go slow
