i wish you the very best on this journey of change and discovery.
Yes, it is definitely right...Some of us are afraid to change. We would rather hold on to fear and insecurities than to look at ourselves full front AND back. So we adapt to live in painful situations that work against us throughout our lives. We didn't come with a guide to life. That's because it is in the discovery of ourselves that we find security and Love. We must find it in ourselves first before we can give it to others...
Who am I? Why and how did I get into this situation? What would really make me happy? What attributes have I nurtured to make me a better friend to others? etc., etc., etc. Free introspection on a daily basis helps matters greatly. At least that's how I keep myself learning :)
Freedom and Success to Everyone.
I've heard of this book, sure it was from someone on DS. In fact I think our Serenity was putting quotes from it up for awhile.
I made that change years ago! I grew up in a not so encouraging household and as I went into the world on my own, one day I decided I had the choice to be who they said I was or who I wanted to be. I chose to be who I wanted to be!
I've had many challenges to face and keeping a positive outlook can be one of them, but overall with it it helps me battle those challenges. I also allow myself those down days and see the importance in them, there is a balance to it, but not take it too far.
Great topic! This room struggles with Chronic pain/illnesses and always needs that positive reinforcement thank you :)
I am hippy. I have degenerative disc disease along with a few other health issues. A grandmother to 4.
I own the book you mentioned Maugaritia but haven't read it. I will . I have it for a reason. Grew up in a dysfunctional home and was married to an alcoholic. I know there is more than just surviving that.
So I am going to read the book. I believe we can walk away from these things and still have much to learn about ourselves.
Looking forward to seeing you around.
hippy
i think so many of us have gone through that esp after having to deal with CP/CI (not to discount your experience at all) and we have or still are pulling ourselves ourselves out and looking/moving forward. it's a brave decision, move and continual process.
I was married for a year, after that I realized I am codependent... and during these years I have been doing my best to recovery from it. I think I am doing well and every day I feel better about myself and have a happier life.
I really appreciate your words and admire your experiences...Happy face for all of you :)
Hippy.. go there and read the book... I am pretty sure you will enjoy a lot.
Serenety, thanks a lot for your wonderful wishes. I felt you gave me a hug.
Begogonia, "we adapt to live in painful situations that work against us throughout our lives", is it not crazy we do that?.. it is, but as you say free introspection, learning, can help us. Thanks.
Irocket... "There is a balance".. I love remind that. kisses.
Warm hugs :-)
