Hello,
Well since my brain is fried today and some of us are having a birthday I thought we could play a fun game. Name a good thing and bad thing that happens at a milestone age i.e. 20,30,40,50. Bet we get some funny answers. I will start...
Turned 20- Life was grand. Little responsibility and body and mind were invincible. Bad thing was still could not drink legally and no car at college so had to walk everywhere
30-OMG- Had to grow up, get a good job. What I remember most and this is sad but at 30 I couldnt drink anymore without gettting a hangover. Would go out with work friends and just be hurtin for certain the next day
40-Swear to God, and my wife agrees and several others. The day I turned 40, my eyesight went. That Day! All of a sudden I couldnt see fine print. Mainly reading issues. The good- married with a job and money. Security
50- Well I just turned in November. Everything hurts in the morning, and I wish I was 60 so I could retire. Good- AARP card and discounts. My insurance dropped. Have some money in the bank.
60- Who knows? Hope to be alive and all parts working and none replaced-tee hee
Anyone else???

It still chokes me up. I had tears in my eyes again. I love Ted Lasso and would highly recommend watching it if you can. It is on Apple TV now season 4 episode 1 dropped on Wed and will continue dropping each Wed until season ends some time later this year.I must add I will gladly be paying the $19.99 per month to get these shows each week after my free 30day trial of apple tv ends from buying a...

Turned 30, still working two jobs, planning a wedding, was very overweight at this time, but was a plus size model so didn't worry too much about it. At 37, decided I couldn't go through with the wedding so walked away from that dream. I moved back home for a bit and stayed there until we sold the family house. I couldn't keep doing the stairs with my back by now anyway.
Joined weight watchers and the gym and by the time I turned 40, I had lost 160 pounds and was in the best shape of my life with my weight, but my back and neck had deteriorated so bad by now. After 8 back & neck surgeries and skin cancer had begun, I felt like the rest of me was getting worse so I had to keep in the best shape possible every other way. I lost my mother in my 40's which was a devastating time for me.
Turning 50, I felt pretty good about the age & about being alone because that's what I chose for myself and then I met up with Scott again and my whole world turned around. I didn't think I could ever be this happy or this in love again. I thought my time for love had passed, but always said if it was meant to be it would happen and it has. I can only hope that in my 60's I'm still this happy and in love.
Anyone else?
Save some bubble wrap for me Lisa!!!
Thanks Martini!
30's One month & eleven days after turning thirty I came home from work on June 9th and found my soulmate/fiancé dead on his bedroom floor he died of a massive heart attack and sent my mind almost over the edge. Moved to san diego to live with my brother for a few months, came home & my ex & I decided to give it another try but by 37 knew we made better roommates than hubby & wife. He's still one of my best friends. By 38 I had my mid life crisis and lost teenage years meld into one. Bought my 40th anniversary 2004 black Mustang. Between 36-39 I had already had my first four back surgeies but that didn't stop me from having the time of my life and doing many things I shouldn't have but oh how I wouldn't change a thing lol!
40's- the day before my 40th Bday 5/27 I moved to my townhouse 8 miles from where I live now. By the next day, my Bday 5/28 I was completely settled even all the pics were hung. I went out that night with my current hubby and best friend. The first hour was great, the rest of the night must have been awesome as I don't remember a thing lol! The next year and four months were filled with everything I had always hoped for. For the first time ever I had many friends that I met through my hubby. Every weekend we were out doing something. We were married on 5/20/06 four months later I had the first of thirteen surgeries. Nothing was the same after my fifth back surgery in sept of 06, its steadily gone downhill along with all of our friends. In the first four yrs of our marriage we lost both his folks, my mom & grandma. To date we've had nine family funerals and at least six friends funerals, so yeah my forty's pretty much sucked. The savior was finding this group.
38+12, well its starting off with a really bad sprained foot and a back surgery in 24 days, I can only hope that it gets better.
Toni. I have a whole truckload of bubble wrap. Just say the word and I'll send you a bunch lol!
Good topic Martini
Love & Hugs

20 - I was in college full-time and working part-time and had the last of a series of mini-nervous breakdowns that had been routine through my late teens. I should've known then that stress wasn't healthy for me but we all think we're Teflon when we're 20 don't we...?
30 - By then I was 3 years post-fibromyalgia diagnosis and 2 years out of work because of it. I moved twice - once just before that birthday and once just after, first to the countryside and then to a slightly less rural area with my parents. It was meant to be temporary but I'm still with them 5 years later...
Who knows what comes with the rest of those milestones, but as long as I'm still alive and kicking and no worse for the wear than I am right now, then I'll be happy and grateful.
