I would say about a 5. Not everyone faces our challenges but I think they have stress due to finances, raising kids in uncertain times, etc.

I think most people are a 6-7

I watched a show on this and the happiest people were from India living in shacks(and I mean shacks!), eating rice every day, without much of anything. They contributed their happiness to being close to their families and neighbors, they didn't stress out about finances in spite of not having any.

i agree with toni. i would say 6-7. i don't think americans are the norm b/c they're driven to consume and always want more. the highest rates are in "impoverished" areas and northern europe.

here i would say 4-5.
