WHY Do They Drop A

It was actually started in the early 1900's by the then New York Times owner - they first had set off fireworks on New Years to celebrate the opening of their headquarters at One Times Square and that became a thing for a couple of years till the owner decided he wanted to up the ante and the electrician for the building suggested a time ball because he saw one on another building.

They first had the ball drop on December 31, 1907 to usher in 1908 and it's been going on ever since to mark the end of one year and start of a new one.

    watching Reacher this morning. What gets me is this time they just dropped one episode. This is such a great show. So intense. I am on done now with the first four episodes and it gets so good.
