What Does A, ' Hagiologist ' Study ?

I'm closing my eyes and totally guessing (because someone has to) it is the study of hermits living on top of mountains in caves that found a woman and departed into the next world, leaving the woman alone who becomes a hag. Someone comes along and decides to study her, because how fascinating that this woman would be living in this cave all by her lonesome with bats and stuff. Whew!
