I have been married for about a year and a half now and about 3 months ago we hit a really hard bump...I asked my husband if I could make an Instagram account to follow some of my favorite YouTubers. At first that is what it was...then One day it was something completely different. I was kind of looking for brands to rep. One day a guy messaged me and we talked over Direct messages. He would comment on some of my pictures and I did feel a little awkward so I would just reply like “oh haha ☺️“ nothing I felt as to be too flirty. I never sent this guy pictures of myself, never told him I was single, never gave him any compliments. But one day my husband saw those messages and he almost left me. To this day he still calls me a cheater and a lied. At first to me, what I did, I really didn’t see it as cheating but he does and I guess I do now too. If I knew that would be considered cheating I would have NEVER done it. How Can I show him I’m not the cheater he thinks I am....I get sick to my stomach thinking that I am a cheater and he will forever see me as one....
You are only 1.5 years in and already started on the slippery slope to adultery.
Some individual counseling may be needed if you have self esteem issues where you can be enticed so easily and so soon.
Marriage and life only gets harder.
Avoid the temptations and work on strengthening your character.
The issue is that you didn't stop it and eventually it would escalate further and further.
