Yup with all the talk about rights I guess someone forgot the rights of the unborn. How selfish and barbaric we have become. Our careers and lives are more important than the life of an innocent baby who had no choice in being conceived, now has no rights or choice whether they live or die. Simply because they aren't the right gender or they just don't fit in in this of your life. In the past when people were confronted with an unwanted pregnancy they dealt with it. It is a part of life.

Does it surprise anyone that eventually this would be the outcome. If pregnant you can find out the sex of your baby. If you always wanted a girl or a boy for some reason===zapped get an abortion if the sex of the baby is not to your preference. Easy solution try again and again and again.............

It seems that people will kill a baby they don't want, one way or an other. Baby girls have been drowned upon birth, they have been left on the side of the road to die and when given the option they have been aborted.

The past isn't too different than the present, when confronted with an unwanted pregnancy people had one less option than they have now. People used to either have the baby out right, hide the pregnancy and send the girl off to a "relatives" house for a while where the baby was either given up for adoption or killed upon it's birth.

Yeah I kinda like to think we have evolved. Unborn today, elderly sick and handicapped tomorrow. So much for the effectiveness of planned parenthood reducing unwanted pregnancy ....guess preventing pregnancy isn't as lucritive.

I think the problems are social issues, what are young people being taught these days? I know in the past there was the occasional teenage pregnancy but now we have 13 and even 12 year olds getting pregnant. We have shows like toddlers and tiaras and videos teaching our very young children to act "sexy", and then we have abortions to get rid of the results of it all.

the abortion rate is actually dropping as are teen pregnancies (in the past people would quietly abort or send the girl away - so you didn't see so many pregnant teens remain in school/visible to their peer groups) - at least in western countries where education and birth control are available (the highest rates and most deaths/unsafe abortions are in developing countries). Sex selection exists for sure, but mostly in Asian/SE Asian populations.

The director at PP does not say she supports sex selection, she says she can't question/judge peoples' reasons.

yes, and so has abortion, unfortunately - difference is it doesn't need to be a dangerous procedure or drug. Too bad many of the people who see abortion as murder also tend to view unwed or teen moms as lesser beings, and birth control or education as un needed.

No one likes the idea of abortion, but prevention should be so much easier.
