...at my current client. I'll be turning over what work I have left, saying my goodbyes and turning in my laptop, secure id and id badge.
I won't miss working for this client. It's by far the very worst place I've ever worked. However I will miss the people I've worked with for almost 5 years.
It's weird. I'm both excited to be moving on but a little anxious too. I'm so relieved to have secured employment beyond June, and it looks like for at least 4 or 5 years. Even so, change is always a little stressful. I'm confident I'll do well at my new position and I did find a nice place to live.
I do look at this as a new beginning, and on several levels. New year, new job, new city, opportunity to meet new people, free from the pain of watching my sister slowly succumb to alcoholism.
All in all it's good. Lots of challenges ahead, which also means lots of opportunities. Heheh, just wish I could snap my fingers and I would be all moved and settled in. Of course I know there are no shortcuts in life and it's foolish to wish time away.
Thanks JoyRide! It was a somber day at work. Not because of me, but because almost all the other 40 contractors being let go on 12/31 do not have new gigs lined up. It's a terrible time to be looking for work, and especially in Upstate New York.
safe travels
good luck with the new job
and new home
and
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
cheers JAGS :)
