This visit was wonderful! My young friend showered me with hugs! His wife and baby are so sweet! I even met his father, who is my age....and he and I had a very nice talk. My friend and I caught up, and he talked about his plans for the future. (He is in school on the GI bill and working towards a degree). He admitted he still struggles with some things (don't we all) and I reminded him I am always willing to listen. He and his wife made me promise that will not be my one and only visit. Even a traffic tie up (I moved 7 miles in an hour and a half and got home that much later) did not spoil my buzz. Perhaps the most touching part of the visit was when I gave him earrings for the day when his daughter informs him she wants her ears pierced. See....his mom knew I make jewelry and was going to send me sea glass from the private beach on which they lived. I told her I would accept the gift, but only if she would accept earrings from me. She was allergic to metal...and needed hypoallergenic earwires and findings. I bought them...but he passed away soon after so I never got the glass to make her the gift. I t never seemed right to use those wires for anyone else. I turned them into earrings for the daughter. My friend's mouth dropped open when I told him that story. His eyes filled up and he told me I have a beautiful soul. It was a glorious day!!!!

So glad your visit was so wonderful that you were still on cloud nine after the long ride and the traffic delay! How neat is that?! What a lovely story about the homemade earrings for that little baby girl. Now that's a special gift indeed. Wow. Thank you for sharing your update!!
