Here's everything that's been happening in the world of Pop Culture this past week... in case you missed it! I know it got mixed reviews around the internet but I liked it. I mean, there were some things about it that I thought were questionable with the plot but for the most part it was intriguing throughout and it paid off with answering questions throughout the series rather than waiting till the very end and still leaving you with question marks. I know some people panned the very end of the series too but I thought it was kind of cool that they purposely chose to end it on a down note rather than a positive happy one. It negated some of the heroics that happened but it was creepy in a good way and it does give them an option should they decide to make a sequel to it in some capacity.
What did you think of it? And do you think they should do another season of it or just leave it as it was?
Matt Dillon's not back but a lot of the old cast is (for flashbacks if nothing else) while Jason Patric and Djimon Honsou have been added to it. I think they said the series will pick up at few months or years even after the end of the first season so I'm curious to see where they plan on taking it from where they left off.
I'm not sure I'm liking that it seems like so many of the main characters from the first season - the few that survived it anyway, are just being offed. It seems foolish to want to just completely revamp a cast when the show is supposed to be a continuation. I can't help but think even though they indicated Ben was attacked by the Abbies in the cornfield that somehow he will have survived, like with the Abbies seeming to have learned to sacrifice themselves to build a ramp to try to scale the town wall, maybe they realized they shouldn't just rip Ben to shreds but instead study him the way the humans are studying the Abbies, or use him as a means to get whatever it is they're looking to get. It just seems a bit of a waste to have barely used Ben in the first episode, then drive him out of the town to leave him to die outside the wall when he should've been used as the new protagonist for the series the way his father was in the first season... I'm not finding Jason Patric's character all that compelling as a new protagonist either, so maybe that's part of my problem with the seeming destruction of Ben...
