I only saw the first two movies and I'm still kind of surprised I even watched them to be honest since horror is not much my thing. Can't say I was really all that interested in the tv show though since it doesn't seem to be a premise that would work for a long term series, even with multiple films having been made (they're basically always the same film in essence, just with different people as the killer, no?). Is it actually worth the while to watch, even for someone not big on the genre?

I would say it wouldn't be worth the watch for someone who's not a horror fan. For fans of the movies I would say it's definitely worth a watch because it refers back to the common slasher movie tropes.

Yes very much so. There's a lot of action. Also a lot of mystery trying to figure out the identity of the killer or killers. There's one character who speaks about slasher movies and about serial killers.

Well sure there's one character that talks about slasher movies and serial killers since there was one in the films too. I would assume there's more than one killer as well if they're following the film in any way. I'm going to have to take your word on it being good though, I'm not a big fan of gory horror so there doesn't sound like much there for me to be drawn in by....
