I recently heard a great 2007 song the other day, "Falling Slowly" because it popped up in my newsfeed, accompanied by the sad news that the male singer, Glen Hansard, just died in a motorcycle accident. I learned that the song won an award and was featured in an indie movie called Once. I just watched it, and it's really good. They made it in 3 weeks on a $100,000 budget. It's streaming on...

Still, the pilot was decent enough to warrant a second look... we shall see how it goes from there...
Love your avi Darkness ;)
It's sad because this has been a good little show, probably on the wrong network because the subject matter and style of the series doesn't really fit Fox (unless it had been paired with "Glee" maybe and even then it wouldn't have helped it in the ratings since "Glee" is basically only coming back because they foolishly agreed to a 6th season before the 4th one even aired when the show was still doing better). Someone on another site had suggested it would've made more sense on like ABC Family or something but they probably wouldn't have been able to afford Octavia Spencer on the show (I would imagine an Oscar winner does not come cheap). I hope at the very least Fox gives fans a chance to see the last 3 episodes even if they are burned off on Saturdays... I'd love it if they pick it up for another season by some miracle or if a cable network gave it a chance for a second season, but I'm not going to hold my breath since it's rare those sort of things happen.
The good news is that Fox has scheduled those 3 remaining episodes of the show that had been filmed but had yet to air, so we will get to see them. The bad news though is that they are airing on consecutive Saturdays - one episode on January 31st at 9pm ET and two back-to-back episodes on February 7th starting at 8pm ET.
While it's great that they are allowing for what was filmed to air, putting it on Saturdays and not even 3 separate weekends but 2 weekends with one night having back-to-back episodes on it, that pretty much equates to final nail in the coffin in the tv world. I mean, there's still that rumor out there that they are looking at fan reaction and such and given Fox only has like 1 hit on their schedule and that's a show that has only aired one episode thus far (that being the new drama "Empire") they have a lot of real estate to cover come next fall and if pilot season doesn't pan out well for them and they have holes still to fill in the schedule, well then "RBS" could be given a shot at having another short season. But it's probably best we just enjoy those three episodes and not hold our breath for more just because it's rare things ever work out in a show's favor when so many cards are stacked against it so soon...
Once I finish watching the end of the show I'll post more comments I'm sure...
I was happy Charlie got to go home... happy Kara changed her attitude, decided to live for Hunter's sake, and managed to explain to her mother why they need to both change for the better... happy Emma was making inroads in her therapy and that Brittany was able to help Emma's mom see beyond the illness to see what a wonderful daughter she has... happy to see Leo decided to fight his cancer rather than give up thanks in part to Jordi doing the same and telling Leo that he made it through his initial fight because Leo gave him the strength to so he was going to do the same for Leo... and happy to see Dash get a little storyline before the show ended! I kind of wished Dr. McAndrew would've ended up with Brittany rather than his ex-girlfriend (and I sort of think had the show continued they would have) but otherwise, I think they managed to get as much packed into those last few episodes that they could and ended on a relatively positive note given how one kid died in the second-to-last episode and another got a pretty bad recurrence of his cancer just when they thought he was in the clear and could go home... I mean, those aren't happy storylines, but this show really was a positive one despite the topics they dealt with. It's really a shame it couldn't develop a strong enough following and stick around even for a short second season.
