Darkness, just curious, did you ever see that sort of sequel "The Rage: Carrie 2"? Or the tv movie version of "Carrie" from like 2002? I don't think the tv movie did all that well (I don't even remember it; my memory was jogged by an IMDB check because it seems as though "Carrie" has been remade far more than it has - mainly because the remakes weren't exactly remakes as in "The Rage: Carrie 2" in which the main character wasn't even named Carrie...) but the other film did fairly well if I recall correctly - I do remember the posters and ads for it back in the day... I'm just wondering how you'd stack those up to the new remake and the original, if you've seen them.

I've seen Carrie 2; The Rage. I enjoyed it for what it was, but I much prefer the original and the remake to it. I've heard that there was a Carrie tv movie but I haven't seen it.

From what I've seen the reviews for the new "Carrie" haven't been so great. Yours is the only rave I've heard, but you are the only non-paid critic that I've heard say they've seen it - that is assuming you aren't a paid critic anyway... for all I know that could be what you actually do for a living... ;-)

I love Stephen King, but wont be watching the new one. Cant go through that bucket f blood gymnasium scene again! LOL

Darkness, perhaps we should promote you to chief movie critic here... do you watch a lot of new films? You wouldn't be paid though but you'd be able to boast being a movie critic!

Snailor, just think about that bucket of blood being nothing more than colored corn syrup (or whatever movie blood is made of these days) and it'd be far easier to stomach.

I do watch a lot of movies at the theater. If I don't get to see them at the theater then I watch them later on. I sometimes watch movies that are only in limited release.

I recently saw this movie: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2345567/ and really enjoyed it! It's more of a mystery with supernatural elements. It's one of those movies that you think you have figured out but then release it's completely different from what you thought. Abigail Breslin did a really good job in this role! I think it should have got a higher score on imdb but there's not a massive audience who has reviewed it.

I'd never even heard of "Haunter" before you posted that; that might explain the lack of audience reviews for it...

I take it you're a fan of a lot of horror and thriller movies...

I think we sometimes have a tendency here in this group of being more TV and celebrity oriented because a lot of the members don't get to the movies often if at all so we're really not seeing new films when they come out quite as much. There was a time when we thought about doing new movie reviews but we figured there might not be enough new films being seen. I think we've got a "movie reviews" thread in our back pages that was intended to be for anyone to talk about any films, new or old, but seeing how it's in the back pages now it obviously didn't take off back then. We have far more members now though, so maybe we should revive it.... Sorry just thinking out loud on that - but if anyone wants to throw in a "yea" or "nay" on the idea I wouldn't mind it....
