Infection is so scarey for those of us with autoimmune issues and I am sorry to hear you are struggling.Go ahead & see the infection control doc as soon as you can. Make a plan with him on what you'll do if it happens again.

Oh hun....how miserable!!! Cellulitis is painful and yes...you do need to seek out a specialist in infectious disease because this is reoccurring in addition to you being immunocompromised. I am going to pm you some info that will hopefully help you. Make sure you are staying hydrated because of the fever. If you can take ibuprofen then taking that in addition to the tylenol because they are two different antipyretics might work to lower the fever even more to give you a break. Check with your doctor before taking any new medicines you are not sure about...even OTC meds. It sounds like this cellulitis is not clearing up with the medicines you have been on so if your doctor does not call back it is time to go to the ER simply because fevers of 103 to 104 in an immunocompromised person are extremely high. It might be time for IV antibiotics and in addition while you are there they can assign you an infection disease specialist and this would be a good thing. I will keep you in my prayers and please keep us posted.

So sorry this is happening. I have a son born with a facial/head deformity. He has a trach and g-tube. His face would have cellulitis on a continuing basis in his hygroma/lymphangmengioma until they started using vancomycin/gentamycin IV. He was assigned a wonderful infectious disease physician.

Thanks everyone. My primary couldn't see me today(worthless) but fever is running 101 so now so high but pain is incredible and I was up all night with it. Thank you Beth for the advice. I can take advil no problem so I have started to alternate them. And I am drinking as much as I can. I am somewhat nauseous and jello is a little easier than a bunch of liquid but I know if I get dehydrated it's a bust.

I will definitely get my primary to send everything to the infectious disease doc so I can get rid of this once and for all. Very weird, I had the same thing 2 years ago. Like every 2 months I got it for about half a year then nothing for awhile and then this started again. Anyway appreciate the support very much.! I am in the middle of an ugly divorce as well so things are really hard.

Sweetheart...you have us:). It must be very scary to be going through this in the middle of an extremely stressful time in your life. How awful!! I know Joanne has a recipe for ginger tea for the nausea and it may just help. That or peppermint tea might work as well. No matter how hard things get for you...lean on us!! Ginger tea really abates my nausea unless it is vertigo.

I cut the ginger into chunks and put it into the blender with some water. Then it goes into a pot and simmered. It will be quite strong so dilute ( after straining it ) with either more water or for me I use either Sprite or 7-up. I also grow peppermint and at times just chew it or also make a very strong tea. Sugar is my enemy unless I am nauseated and then add that to the teas. Drink up!

Great I will give that a try! I basically only drink ginger ale so adding it to sprite or 7 up is no problem. Yes I used to chew peppermint, funny I was just talking to a normal about that LOL. Thank you I appreciate the recipe!!
