The cost depends on the size of the tattoo and the colors involved. Also, whether it is a professional tattoo. You will have to visit a dermatologist who does removal to get an idea about the price, because you will have to go for several sessions, and the number of sessions depends on the size and colors.

I am going to a dermatogist in a couple of weeks for a consult to see about having my tattoo removed. The initial visit is $80 which is applied towards future visits should I decide to have the tattoo removed (which I am going to do if he can do it). The cost of each visit runs about $350, and the dermatologist will give me an idea of how many visits will be needed. I imagine the cost varies from state to state, and from MD to MD.

I use to work for a dermatologist and it's very much about the colors and experience of the person running the laser as to how much is "removed". I have seen MANY tats "removed" and in my opinion is pretty much a misnomer. I personally haven't seen great results with ANY method of tat removal, including laser. Sorry, I know that isn't what you wanted to hear. I hope if you decide to have the laser you ask to see HIS/HER before and after pics THAT Doc has performed and not just some stock pics.
