Hi Monte, sorry you're feeling so sore and frustrated. I know about the wanting to "push pause"... sounds like a good idea.
Its good to blow off some steam too... unending pain takes us to the limits of our endurance...and it feels like beyond, at times. Another frustration is that we often look fine, people cant see pain, unfortunately. Frustrating too, that only superstrong painkillers make the least little dent in the pain. And then they affect is in other ways.
I hope you feel a little better tomorrow and by the way you dont sound like youve taken leave of your senses. Take care, Astralane.

Hey, Monte. I have been wanting to push the pause button a lot lately. It all really gets too much and would be wonderful if someone could find a cure - and even better if the doctors started believing us about the pain etc and not brushing us off. Thank goodness we have this site where we can all understand and support each other.

Just wanted to thank you. I am new to this site and the other day I saw your advice about the patient handbook @ the smawarness site so I went there and signed in and got it. Sometimes it is so hard to read all this stuff and not get depressed but then when you can barely walk you need all the info you can get. So thanks again. By the way, I don't think you've lost your senses either, how's this for losing one's senses, Somedays I contemplate seeing if theres a dr. out there that would just amputate my rt. arm because the nerve pain is so bad. I know that sounds ridiculous but you know how bad some days can be. Hang in there it sure has helped me to go on these sites and hear stories from people that know what I'm talking about.

Thanks for all the positive responces . I guess I have been having a bad week just trying to deal with all the pain and now I have been waking up in the mornings with headaches and a very stiff neck and pain in my left shoulder and it goes all the way down to my fingers . Never had it this bad but that is nothing that I didn`t expect from SM . The neck I can sort of attribute to my surgery and the shunt because they had to go through the bones and that is never a good thing . But my shoulder and arm has never been this bad ,
cathysue ,I am glad that I have been able to help you to get the info that you need . It is good to hear that you are finding info and maybe making some new friends along the way , You know the ones that now what you are going through and don`t think you are nutts . Just a thought on the headaches and stiff neck - could it be your pillow? I have been using a contoured pillow for years now. It definitely makes a difference for me. Belive me, I do understand the pain. For the last couple of days, my head and neck have been hurting so bad, it feels like it's about to burst open. Hope you are feeling a little better.
